after my dealings with this company, i feel i owe it to them to share my experiences
first of, this in not an ls1 only company, they do ls-series heads, mod 4.6L and 5.4L heads, 4 cyl ecotec, and 2.0L focus cylinder heads, and offer various valvetrain parts
Experiences i noticed before i got decided to buy the heads:
patriot was very new to the ls market, no one wanted to buy them until they had been tested, especially at the low prices that they were. the first set of heads that went out had valve problems that Terry (owner) wasnt aware of at the time of shipment. terry stopped production, personally contacted everyone that had been shipped heads and gave them two choices. 1) he would send them replacement valves and seals, all new gaskets and bolts etc and a compesation check if they wanted to do the reinstall themselves. 2) he would send them new valves and seals, and pay for a shop to install the new valves and reinstall the heads if the customer didnt want to. Very stand-up imo
My experiences:
i spent countless time on the phone with terry discussing cylinder head options and choices for i would get the best heads i could afford. they arrive very very shortly after i ordered them and i was very impressed with the quality. terry pmmed about 2 weeks after i got them to see if i had installed them and how i liked them. (big plus to know the owner wants feedback). i had a leaky valve seal problem on a few cylinders, i called terry, 3 days later i had 16 new valve seals at my door (free). I installed them and still had slight smoking on start-up, which i actually think is the valve seals setting because it has drastically declined throughout the day. I posted this this morning on ls1tech. well out of the blue terry pm's me. He agrees that the valve seals need to set a little, but he also said this which amazed me. Next week he is getting a new shippment of crane dual springs and titanium retainers good to something like .630 lift. very impressive springs. well he wants to send me some to try out, FREE, as well as some new valve seals incase i damaged any installing them. this is customer service that cannot be beat.
Other experiences ive scene:
i know many others that terry is/has sent the new cranes to at no charge. also when people were installing the heads without checking rocker to retainer clearance and chewing up the retainers, he sent them new titainum retainers free.
Performance.
numerous 440 and 450+ dynos. one guy recently made 449 through a convertor automatic with a 12 bolt and 4.10s. very impressive numbers.
This is absolutely the best customer service i have experienced and i am now a loyal patriot customer for life. i will not buy another cylinder head that patriot can supply me with
just thought i would share
