GOD FUCKING SHIT FUCKING GOD FUCKING DAMNIT!!!!!!!!


went out today to test driving fixing the problem that i thought was bad gas (turns out im an idiot and left the hose clamps after the maf loose letting unmetered air in)

get on it in first, nail second, car falls on its face. starts stumbling stuttering

try it one more time and here tons of racket

so i limp home

pull the valve covers

BROKEN FUCKING VALVE SPRING

it APPEARS that the inner spring did its job and held the valve up, im about to go to a comp check with the tester i bought for absolutely no reason today which actually looks like it might come in handy, post results shortly

i called terry as soon as i got home and he said as soon as he gets the new cranes in he is going to next day them too me. hopefully they will be here by fri so i can go race

(ps have i mentioned how much i love my digi camera)

Sorry to hear about that. Sounds like Terry's taking care of you, though. Just remember it'll all be better tomorrow. Funny how that instinct to buy tools that we'll soon need is somehow always right. Every time I've ignored it thinking "Eh, I'll never use that" I end up making a trip to buy it within 24 hours.

good news

inner spring did its job and the valve didnt touch the piston



plugged the compression tester in, turned the starter over a few times, got out and saw a reading of 30 psi and almost shit myself. realized it wasnt sealed well. turned it over again and got in the neighborhood of 215 psi so i dont think i have much to worry about there.

oh well, just gotta wait for the springs now
