The car runs...kinda. Yesterday it cranked and ran like a champ(sounded badass:twisted: ) for about 30 seconds on two seperate occations, I turned it off because I didnt have any water in it. It also ran a couple of times today as well but after I got everything put back together for the most part, it wouldnt fire up. Now it will crank and fire but it needs a lil gas to keep it running. I plan on looking into everything that could be making it run wierd tonight and hopefully get it on the road tomorrow.

ryans probably right, just drive it for about a 100 miles and let everything get reset to normal

Ryan is right. Be happy that it runs at all with the cam and no tuning not to mention the deletes that you just did, AIR EGR etc. If you can live with it like it is for about 200 miles then do the PCMforLess tune. After the 200 miles we can run the car around with my notebook hooked up and get a "around town" file and then do some WOT runs. We then send these files to Rooster and have him tune you a new chip. He can take care of all of your codes and get you a pretty good AF/R.

The only thing is that it wont stay "on" without me giving it lots of gas. Is this normal? If I can get it where it will idle, Ill heat cycle the springs and put some miles on it today but getting it to idle is going to be the trick.
Also, I unhooked the battery in between every startup and it had no effect on resetting the computer like this, on time the battery was unhooked overnight. Thats whats throwing me off. Im going to get it put all the way back together and go from there.
Thansk guys

Thats what sucks about big cams and autos, a tune is a must for a nice idle. You should have gotten a mail order tune before the install, it will run like butt until you get one. How are your brakes

Yeah, that's normal. I ha the same problem on my 90 notch when I put on the cam and rockers. Ford makes this Idle Adjustment plate that goes on the t-body that you turn a screw and it fixed the idle. Maybe GM makes one for you?

I have driven it and I must say that it stays running fairly easy. It only tries to shut off every once and a while when I stop too fast. Its got a miss like I have a burnt spark plug wire or something but the all checked out good, all are on the correct spots, and werent arching at all. I know I instaled the opti correctly and I am in the process of replacing the coil as I type(short break :ryan: ) so if that turns out not to work, Im putting the old wires back on and going from there. Ill keep you guys posted.
P.S. Even with the miss down low, it still feels a good bit stronger than the old setup:mrgreen:

watch the o2 sensors
coolant will kill then, could be causing the miss

Did that throw a code on yours? Should I unplug them and see how it runs without them?
