My boss is looking to replace the shocks on his aging SS and was going to buy these:

Shocks, Optional Bilstein Package, 1993-02 Camaro/Firebird (set of 4) (http://www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?P=70008)

But I told him he could probably find something comparable or BETTER here in town... any ideas? He really just wants to leave his car at a garage and have them replace all the shocks with something as good or better, not looking to do any of the work himself, he's old. :D

Those would be good sounds like there just ws6 shocks. Any local shop will sell you something probably not as good.

tell him if he wants to lower his car a little at the same time to check out the QA1r adjustable's. i have them in the front only and love em. ride height is adjusted to your desire and ramp(spring up rate can be adjusted--compression remains constant). if not all that into performance, get some cheap ones that work. prolly pay half of what those cost.

I thought QA1's were more of a drag shock? I don't know.. I'm not really a huge suspension guru. I'd like to put some Koni's on my car at some point. I don't think the old man would want to spend that much money though.

They would be more than $425.

Koni's (http://www.stranoparts.com/partdetails.php?PartID=16&CategoryID=0&ModelID=2) ride great!

Verify they're not NOS parts. SLP has had a tendency to sit shocks for fbods on shelves for a long long long time, and the old one's seals become garbage from sitting for so damn long. Just something I ran into ordering some old 1LE shocks.
