This race was setup for May, but had to be switched to 3-30-08. Danny, Nate, Tye, and I went up to run Sunday. Danny ran the street legal drive in n/a class. Nate and Tye ran the Unlimited class. And I ran the Limited DOT tire class.
Danny made it to the finals in the drive in class, but lost to a 7.20 car who did not drive into the track. But due to no one paying attention at the gate, he was allowed to run. On wore down D/Rs Danny still managed to run a new best of 7.49@91.
I had ordered some ET Streets for my car since the D/Rs are on backorder, but they didn't make it. So I borrowed Nate's old 27" ET Streets, which it turned out my car didn't like the ET Streets. I tried leaving just above idle and still had to pedal first gear. Even spinning threw 1st, and getting loose in 2nd the car loved the air and ran a 1.63 60' 7.00@98 :) Almost 3 mph higher then before. I found the car likes to be rev'd to 6500+ even tho power starts falling off at 6100. So with traction the car should run a 6.90 :) :) I also lost in the finals to a blue coupe. He ran his best pass ever he said with a 1.50 60' 6.85@99. So if I could of hooked first it would of been a damn close race. Even with me spinning I was at his back bumper all the way down.
Nate and Tye raced each other in the finals of the Unlimited class. It was a pedal feast and Tye just did pull out the win over Nate.
Alex took pictures for us and should have them up soon. And I have some videos on Nate's camcorder of Nate's run. Which I will put up as soon as I can.
