Got me diagnostic cable today, and apparently I am not running lean at all... if anything at WOT it is a bit rich. The MAP is actually about 3 inHg higher than a stock truck like mine at WOT (mine = 29.5(+ or - a few 10ths) stock = 26.2 or so) My O2 sensor voltage was at like .97-1.07 V on my WOT run. I didn't even know it could go above 1 volt. That equates to about a 11.5-12:1 AFR, which is pretty dad-gum rich. I now have no earthly clue what is wrong, except that the machine shop just raped my heads, as they were raping my wallet!! Should just spent a few more dollars and got the trick flows!!!
On another note, I AM shoping for some GOOD heads. I was considering Air Flow Research 195 heads, they looked the best to me on some flow comparisons I looked at. Vortec heads arent that bad however, for the price, they flow GREAT! Any suggestions? $1200 for 230+ CFM (intake) Aluminum AFR heads or $500 for 215 CFM (intake) Iron Vortec heads?? (Vortecs flow better than LT1 heads too)

i've heard patriot makes some good heads for the ls1...but that would mean you would have to swap engines...and i know a couple people that would be willing to help you do that :headbang:

dont have the money, or really the deisre to any more. i just want my truck runnin good with about a $1000 or less investment. A while down the road i was thinking of getting an edelbrock pro-flo EFI (not that gay TBI conversion thing) and maybe getting a ZZ4 shortblock to go underneath them, but for now i just want some heads.

I dont really know what i'm doing either = ). I will welcome any help i can get tho. The heads I can do myself when i get them, if i can borrow a torque wrench, and if i can get someone to basically do the valve lash for me cause I have NO CLUE how to.

What did your spark plugs look like after your full throttle runs? Do you still have the stock coil, throttly body, injectors, exhaust manifolds, etc? Sorry, I really don't know the scoop on your set-up.

alright, stock on everything you asked except for headers. haven't looked at the plugs... good call, I'll check em tomorrow, and do a little more data aquisition. i might be on to something, timing advance drops a good bit when my power runs out, sometimes. Other times my retard increases, dont understand how they are separate tho...

:bs:they are the same tires on there straight, copied and pasted so they have the same angle.

those rear ones are definitely at an angle as opposed to the truck.
they are at the same angle, but the rear ones appear to be turned because the back side of the tire is covering part of the rear fender, while the front part doesnt stick out quite as far.

lol. i gotta desktop size i had saved...its cuase its so small, the fenders ps'd pretty well in the larger pic, the smaller one it does look like it doesnt stick out as much, but it does, but the fender is black so its hard to tell.

yeah... its better than my picture. Made the mistake of taking it at 1280x1024 or whatver it is, and it didn't like being 300 pixels tall.

Ok, not the fuel filter, just changed it out and took her for a little test run. after a few minutes of driving out to my "test road" I floored it. Looked promissing until the top of first gear at 4000 rpm... power dropped slightly just befpre the shift, again. Next objective: Timing!
anyone have a timing light?
