my car has been running strong for the past 2 weeks. ive been pushing that turbo to its limits 15psi strong, but this morning was different. i started it up and a bunch of white smoke was coming out of my exhaust and it doesnt push more than 3 psi. i event turned the boost controller to 20 psi and it didnt do crap. my car doesnt run funny it just doesnt push more than 3 psi and i have a bunch of smoke. i guess ill be taking it apart again...i have no idea what it is

Does it billow white-ish smoke at idle and then puff smoke when the turbo makes vacuum (when you let off gas)? If so, I'm betting that you blew a turbo seal. What turbo does your car have on it, a 14b? It might be cheaper to buy a low mileage one from www.dsmtrader.com than to get it rebuilt through somewhere like turbonetics. The fact that you're making less boost than the wastegate should limit you to is a bad sign. It could be as simple as a loose vacuum line to the actuator, though.

it smokes white at idle and it makes more smoke as i drive.it wont boost at all. but it drives just fine. the engine doesnt struggle at all. mitsubishi looked at it and they said im having a turbo problem. im having a hard time excepting that cuz i just put a 16g in it about a month ago. im just gonna buy a used 14b and see how that helps.
before you spend money why dont you do a compression test on it. I to think its a piston/head/headgasket problem. Is there oil in the coolant?

Would be REALLY easy on your car. Buy (or borrow) a pressure tester, disconnect/disable your fuel supply, and then test each cylinder for pressure using the spark-plug holes. Find out what the specs are and compare them to what you find out. In case you don't already go there, www.dsmtalk.com is a GREAT place to get info about your car.
I have a compression tester you can borrow, Luis... I can bring it to Schlotzkys or you can pick it up. Lemme know if you want it, I'm leaving for Jax tomorrow for the weekend.

so i took of the intake that connects to the turbo off...i found a nut!!! a mother fuckin nut!!! the blades are all screwed up. they dont even turn at all. i think eric sabotaged my turbo so he can be faster...j/k eric..so thats what it is. i'd rather it be a turbo problem than a piston or head gasket problem.

Good to hear it is the turbo (if you can call that good). I don't think you have head gasket problems. If you had a head gasket blown bad enough to smoke like crazy the engine would not run smooth.

im thinking that the turbo was on its way out then the dumb techs at mitsu dropped something in there. Unless there is some kind of screw in your maf sensor that came undone...there is only like 2 feet of pipe pre turbo. hmm  Just let me know if i can help you get her going again (stock supra turbo )
