Here what tdo posted very sad
Bicyclist hit by car on Parkway dies
A bicyclist was killed Tuesday around 8 p.m. after colliding with a car at Apalachee Parkway and Magnolia Drive. Apalachee Parkway was closed for over an hour as the Tallahassee Police Department's Traffic Homicide Unit investigated. TPD did not immediately release the cyclist's name or any further details on the crash. One man at the scene, Rick Lovern, said he was driving down Apalachee Parkway just as the crash occurred. "I heard the impact," Lovern said. "I looked back to my left, and I saw the body hit right beside me."

Yeah I went by there aparently just after it had happened, before all the cops showed up. I gave everyone the report when I got to birds. I saw the single cop and fire truck, and figured there was a wreck, then 4 cops pulled behind ME and hit the lights (just blocking the road, but it scared the shit out of me). Then after being directed away from the direction I wanted to go, I looked over, saw the mangled bike and then the body on the ground.

I was over at my buddy's house the other day (actually I think it was last night) and he got a call from his friend that saw it happen. When they got out to see if he was all right they saw who it was (they actually ended up knowing the person that got hit... that's why they called my buddy to tell him in the first place because he was friends with him too) and saw that he was hurt pretty bad. I overheard the name but I'm not going to say it out of respect and I'll just let you wait until the official report comes out.

Sad to hear about it, the article got pulled off of the page. I do look out for bycylists, especially on roads like Miccosukee but they also need to look out for cars. Not grouping all bikers together but there are some out there who I am surprised haven't gotten hit yet by thinking they own the road and not obeying the traffic laws.

Well, Bicycles actually have an equal right to the road. They are supposed to follow all the same laws as cars as well. Typically I try to ride with in 3 feet of the shoulder, but on roads that are not wide enough, cyclists have the right to ride in the middle of the lane. Unfortunately every driver ever gets mad at cyclists for riding on the road. Just be careful.

What kills me is bikers who ride in the middle of the lane down a road like Meridian for 10 miles not allowing anyone to pass or forcing them to cross the double yellow. They could easily ride the edge of the lane and let people pass but they don't....for 10 fucking miles at 20mph.

I know that they have equal rights on the road, they are a vehicle and under the same laws. I'm not to supportive of road bikers but do respect their right to be on the road and look out for them whenever I see one. Just some people think that the traffic laws don't apply to them. I have seen pods of 20+ guys just blow through stop signs without stopping or ever looking.

That's what annoys me with road bikers. It is much safer on the road for both sides when a biker movers over as much as possible and lets a car pass. It makes the road much safer for both sides.

Another person on a bike was seriously hurt last night running a red on the pky. And i had a close call this after noon as a guy on a bike was coming down the wrong way and almost went flying over my hood. I dont mind a bike being on the road as long as they follow the rules. The sad thing about this is all these could have been avoid if the rules were followed.

I went to High School with him, it's sad to see two people I went to school with die in a car related accident in the same month. The put a ghost bike on the telly poll where he died. RIP
