Yesterday I was adjusting my thermostat switch under my hood. Then while trying to screw it back down the hot wire hit the body. The truck was running while I was doing this...when it sparked the truck shut off. I tried restarting it..it just spun over. The THEFT light on the dash is blinking rapidly!....
Is there anyway to reset the theft system? Someone please help! I tried leaving the battery disconnected overnight...that did nothing. So now its outside with EVERY fuse and relay the truck has out...(figured that might reset something) and the battery disconnected.
What can I do???? Please help!

Frank says to try another key. If that doesn't work you are gonna need to seek dealer help so they can reset it.

you still have my old tuner? flash it back to stock, and then see if that works. it'll reset the PATS system when i does the flash. that sounds like what you need done....

Yeah. I tried that to. I remembered seeing the theft light flash while uploading program, so I attempted that. Didnt work...wouldnt even read the programmer.
Now Im worried if the dealer resets the truck...will the programmer still work? It currently has my stock tune(programmer)..and I have the 87 tune on my truck......

did you check all your fuses?
Yup. All are good. I even tried moving all the relays to a different location....
Now ALL fuses and relays are out, along with a disconnected battery...

You didnt have to wait so long. When you pull the cables off the battery, leave your headlights on and hold the 2 cables together for a few minutes.

when you pull the cables off of the battery and apply a load, as in leaving the headlights on, or creating a constant ground loop you'll reset everything immediately. It's how I reset my ECU without having to wait forever.
