Some of you may remember when i traded Ray my old Chevelle for his S-10 and Elky.

I got a couple new toys tonight.
Both need some work but i couldn't pass them up.

Did you get the running problem straight?

Still need to get the timing and carb tweaked but it starts and stays running now.
I may bring it over next week once i get it all primed.

I do see a cam change coming up in the near future. The 454 is from an 85 truck, the cam has almost no lift. gotta love a smogged out big block......Not!

Made some progress this weekend.
Chris (mcswain) and his brother Josh came over and help get it running like a charm. Josh suggested running a hotter plug and adding another ground strap. Went to a R45T and it made a huge difference. No more backfiring or sputtering.
Should be able to get the prep finished up tomorrow. Hopefully i can get it taped up and finish primed Tuesday night. Install the new rear bumper and trailer hitch Wednesday.

Here are the pictures and a couple videos.

Got it in primer tonight.
2 coats of Polyester Primer, should hold me over until i get a chance to do some more prep work and paint it.
Tomorrow i will change my rear bumper, reinstall the mirrors & trim.
Clean the engine compartment and get the exhaust welded up and it will be ready for this weekend.

WOW are you going to put the hood scoop back on or just fill the holes.

The scoop is going back on for now.
I just wanted to make sure it was sealed under it first.

Going to block sand it tonight and lay down a final coat of primer.
I found a couple spots i want to touch up.

3 hours of block sanding later i was ready to prime again.
Got 2 coats on, car un-masked and started putting some of the trim back on.
I am happy with it this time.
