Looks like 1 team is full, unless I let someone take my spot. So post up if you are interested. Go ahead and post up if you are interested in doing it. The flyer says teams of 5, so I dunno whats up till Sunday for sure.
edit: Ok, I called the track. It is teams of 4, but we can have multiple teams. It is $25 per driver, I will cover the entry for 2 TMCA teams. But we can do 3 teams if needed.

when is this? I have nothing to do all weekend.
also, is leaving the ground in the cart for brief moments allowed?

Edited the first post, but it is Sunday the 5th. And I doubt leaving the grounds would be allowed lol. Didn't you watch CSI Vegas? Guy lost his head to a road gator doing that :p

I will definitely ride my bike out to check out this cart racing thing. Will there be beer and grilling?

Carts less than 2 inches off the ground racing against each other in a head to head match at speeds in excess of 25 mph and beer...Great combination...:D

I was browsing this post and have some answers for you guys:
#1 - thanks for coming out, going to be a good show.
#2 - Teams are of 4 head to head (8 karts on the track at one time) - several heat races then a final...
#3 - leaving the ground is acceptable as long as your running over someones ass to get to the front (I've done it twice in my 125cc kart and OntheGasinFL - Matt can tell you about his experience as well).
#4 - Everyone come over and say hi if you get a chance - I'll be around the black trailer with the Red Corvette #4.

I think they are just having the team competitions - but each guy on a team gets his own kart (4 people - 4 karts). SO - it's kinda like a solo run except you get to chase someone down (or be chased down)...

Well - I don' know how it happened - but our Corvette Club team took the overall win in the last Smack-Down elimination race. Of course we had 2 of our guys bail early and had to replace them with Matt (Onthegasinfl) and another ringer to bring it home...so I guess we get to talk smack now.
It was good to finally meet a bunch of you guys face to face and I hope you all enjoyed it. I feel bad for the dude with the Blue 68' Cobra - that was a bad deal.
For those that weren't there - this guy went out to do the "track thing" in his shiny 68" repliCobra and promptly launched it off the back of track trough the barriers and out into the woods. Smashed the front fender, bent a bunch of suspension and his wife looked severly pissed as well (she was in the passenger seat.) That was probably his worst punishment...

Rich,
We didn't know anything about running again. When the carquest team took the lead we thought it was over with. Sorry for the mess up, but it sounds like it worked out anyway. Besides I am not sure that my finger would have let me run again.

It wasn't the rental that got him, it was the collision with another cart with a 300 lb person sitting in it that brought him to a quick and sudden stop that hurt.
