without spending a hefty some of money to build the motor right before using a poweradder, all you have on your hands is a ticking time bomb.

umlimited funds, my car might look something like this

but that would be for shits and giggles, i would have a much faster NA car on the side before i even undertook building a turbo car

however i would absoutely never throw a poweradder on a stock(ish) motor just to go faster. you could spend less money, go faster, and have a car that is a 10000 times more reliable by picking a solid NA combo

so basically power adder on a motor built for it, go for, just not my thing
power adder on a stock motor just so you can go faster easier, well read above

and if you run a bottle, you better be able to run high 10's without it

All I can say is wow.

Thats was pretty constructive. Ignorant but constructive.

Anyone can run a power adder on ANY motor stock or not as long as they use their head. If someone thinks they can spray 250 or run 20 lbs of boost on some cast pistons they need to have their tool set taken from them. This was to just see what people who use them prefer to use on THEIR cars.

You act as if someones always out to get you. Alays taking offence to things and lashing back. You speak as if you already have a 9.50 all motor car.

I think my 12 second motor et's are up to par. Gaining over 2 seconds for $450 is even better.

In conclusion fast is fast. If someone loses BC they chose to run all motor is that my fault. I don't care wether or not someone straps rocket pack to the side of their car. If they knock down some low ET's they've got my vote.

And yes I will run on the motor as long as its agreed upon in advance.

I am all NA... with high compression and larger displacement... nothing beats the feeling and rush of torque... large amounts of it... poweradders, like NOS, are cool, but they make a smaller motor think it is a bigger motor... how sad, cause after all is said and done, it is still a little motor...

compare it to something like this...

beer is a power adder... it makes the drunk girl you are fucking think you are big and good... but after all is said and done, you still have a little dick...

As for the question, I would like to stay NA but the bottle would me my choice. I like being able to drive around on a semi-streetable setup but when it comes time to get dirty, open the bottle and let em have it.

Since the topic says POWER ADDER OF CHOICE we are not talking about N/A. I like all power adders, but have to say turbo is the way to go if funds permit. IMO You have a few price brackets to help you get some more power. Nitrous being the cheapest intially, with superchargers being a good bang for the buck, and turbos though with there usually high price tag (if you dont build it yourself) being the top dog.

If I had unlimited budget I'd go with a motor pretty much like in Ryan's picture. I like blowers too, but I've never met anyone who didn't have tuning issues with an aftermarket installation. So I'd have to say N20, but that would only be icing on the cake to an engine that whas already making say 400RWHP plus, and built to withstand say another 200 or 250 shot for extra added Supra protection. :lol:

i'd like boost on my car, but due to lack of funds i'm researching a good head/cam pakage for my LS1. if i stay as broke as i am, i'll probably bottle feed my engine, even though i've thought bad things about nitrous-until recently. i need some info on a good head/cam package for my everday driver. just how good are my LS1 heads? i also need input on a strong rear end-mine won't last the way i like to launch. several people have told me that since my engine has such high compression that i wouldn't fully benefit from a supercharger or turbo the way i would if i ran nitrous or swapped my heads/cam--any input.

93 LT1 stock, not even roller rockers.
#3100 weight
subframe connectors
2800 stall
global west track link torque arm
HAL adjustable shocks on all 4 corners.
Grot long tube headers
custom dual exhaust

it isnt so much about making horsepower, it's about controlling the horsepower you already make.

Most stock F-Bodies (LT1,LS1) can't properly handle the horsepower they already have. This car was an experiment in just how far you can go to extremes. Every Horse was used and put to the ground as efficiently as possible. in this configuration the car ran a 12.1@109 on a very low 60' time.

the car eventually got a MORE Perfoamnce built 355 with AFR heads and a Vortech S-Trim which put it into a 10.5@135 on 2 lbs. of boost. During tuning the red xone was viloated :) and the motor blew.. SBC's hate 6900 RPM runs :)

With the way the motor was built, it SHOULD have been deep into the 9's with full #15 of boost as planned.

so.. yes.. it only had 297RWHP.. yes it was a stock LT1 pulling the front wheels.. and yes, it DID have a 355.. but that came later.

hmmmmmmmmm well ill just say this take a na 9 sec car and a 9 sec car on boost like mine if my car was all motor it would not be streetable thats why i built it with a power adder ,cause if i put in a 11:1 compression 347 in and took it to 9s it would be track duty only..
as for the power adder of choice i have run nitrous and superchargers.and i would never go back to nitrous after i have had this blower my car on 10 lbs of boost feels better all the time then my 347 motor with a 150 shot was

To be complely honest, I dont have a problem with imports(rice is a different story) and most definatly have NO problem with new people. I really like the fact that the site is growing but I think the problem is people dont understand us when they register. Most of us joke around with eachother and are very sarcastic people and when we say something, people take it way to serious or personal and thats when things get ugly. I do think that some of the newer members are here to stir up shit and they are the reason I am defensive when we get attacked here on the board. The main thing is that people need to lighten up. I am here to have a good time and Im sure that most of the rest of us are too.
