I think it will be closer then the press is leading the public to believe.
Either way there will probably be rioting....

I had two people knock on my door yesterday. One for Obama one for McCain. I told them I was voting for both :)

I can tell you that nobody is voting in Orlando. I think everyone either voted early or absentee. I had some shit to do at work today with the polls and I went to about 8 precincts and the line was no longer than 10 people anywhere. At 1:30, there was NO ONE voting. Definitely not what I expected to see.
I think Obama wins. If the polls are even remotely accurate, then it won't even be close.

I remember when someone said this...
The Democrats have sealed their faith by choosing someone that by November, will be considered unelectable to the general population. Hillary scared me in that she could win, Hussein Obama has NO shot. He'll get the D's but the mainstream folks will choose the safety of McCain over the radical Obama. Anyone who doesn't think this guy is fringe with a capital F, knows nothing about him. Nothing wrong with being an extremist, just don't try to hide it under the cover of being moderate.
I guess McCain shopuld had picked a better running mate?

I for one, welcome our new democrat overlords.
I'm thinking the smart move here will be to wait a couple months for the hype to die down before adding to my pre-obama arsenal. Hell, it would take at least 6 months for Obama and crew to get any gun control bills through the legislative machine so wait it out and get the most for your money.
My take on all of this is that Obama will stall on or shelf most of his more extreme policy shifts in hopes of staying moderate enough to remain viable for 2012. Say what you want about the guy, but he isn't a dummy WRT politics. His staff and advisors have studied the first 2 years of the Clinton administration leading up to losing Congress and he will be careful not to make the same mistakes. While I'm not thrilled about the results, I think Obama 2012 will be a much more frightening prospect.
Also, a point of interest; Hillary is going to be the most powerful person in congress next year. With the Dem tendency for infighting, this should be interesting.

exactly! I don't get it. If you do just a little bit of your own research and turn off that stupid liberal bitch katie couric it is easy to see that obama is a steaming pile of shit. Waaay too many character and background questions. And if he was born in hawaii then i was born in japan.

Unfortunately I think the Bradley effect happened and it happened hard. In Miami it was the "trendy" thing to do to support Obama and it saddens me that our democratic process has come down to that. A good majority of people that I talked to about why they voted for Obama reasoned that it was "because he isn't Bush". It just really saddens me that this country has come to this and that there will be a Hussein in the White House. I thank the bandwagon voters who had no idea what they were getting themselves in for and just wanted to vote for "change".
Enjoy your tax raise (which I will place money on hitting every tax bracket by the end of his 4 years) and the invasion of Pakistan (which I'm pretty sure he already said he thinks we should do).
And Parker, I'm with you on that one! Hell I just quit my job. Might as well live off of everyone else and watch this happen to the country I love:t:

I think it's rather exciting: I never thought a black man would be Pres.. Well, mixed, but definitely not Caucasian.
I'd like to make one thing clear, though nobody cares but it'll piss off some, is that while I am interested in politics and the going on of the government, I'm not nor ever have been a registered voter and thus did not vote. Take it to PM if you feel like flaming me.

To start - I am a Republican, I voted for McCain, I hate taxes, I don't own guns - but I believe in the freedom to have them. I am not a racist - I believe in diversity and inclusion.
All of that being said - regardless of how it gets done, I have to respect someone that can rally the masses and generate such an involvement from the people. It seems the country has rallied around him much like JFK, which I am not sure is such a bad thing. This will mark a new era of people actually wanting to work for the Government instead of avoiding it. He may be half full of shit, but show me one good marketing campaign that isn't. Hopefully there will be enough other smart people in Washington to make sure he doesn't run wild. I haven't completely analyzed the potential cabinet positions...but we'll see.
I also respect the fact that for any racial differences in this country this has to be seen as MONUMENTAL. This should basically signify the end of opression as we know it. Anyone can claim it until their race reaches the top of the power chain - once that happens, then it has to feel like true equality.
Just my 2 cents...which is way more than what it's worth.

It will be "fun" to watch the Democrats try to blame the problems of the next four years on Bush. But it's going to suck when they convince the American people to put them in office again in 2012 only to have the same outcome.

one: yes there are that many stupid people in this country. in fact the reason i rarely go to theme parks and places with masses of people is because i absolutely despise stupid people, it is probably my largest pet peeve, and i would honestly classify 70-80% of the people i have ever met in my life in that category.
two: last night between about 1030-1130 pm there were roughly 100 "obama supporters" running around the parking lot blasting music and yelling up a storm at polo's on park where my chick lives. as her roommate got home at roughly midnight after leaving her boyfriends place at downunder or whatever it is on old bainbridge across from the cemetery, she had to run every light down old bainbridge through frenchtown because there were according to her 1000's of "obama supporters" crowding the streets banging and jumping on cars IN CELEBRATION. imagine what would have happened it he lost. . .

Yes the general Public is stupid, just like a stupid bunch of panicky Cows.. Point in case, the "Gas scare" we had just a few short months back. The news said it one time and people freaked the hell out, gas prices shot up and where the Hurricane was hitting in TX had no change.
The fools are led to believe that since Bush (a republican) messed up so bad that this "Messiah" ( A democrap) can fix it all. Have ya'll actually read his plan??? It does not compute. It can't work. Thats fine he is the president elect now we have to live with it.
