Gainesville, The Good the Bad and the Ugly

Got a wild hair and at the last minute decided to do the test and tune with Ryan tonight. Left at noon for home cause I wanted to reset my valve lash and Ryan offered to help. He got to my place fast and I basically ended up watching Ryan do most of the work. This should be of no surprise to those that have seen him turn wrenches, he is fast and sure, his hands get into places mine would never see. Thanks again Ryan. Slapped the skinnies on the front, loaded the slicks and off we went.

The good.
My best run which also was my last and against Ryan.

Believe it or not I left on Ryan with a 4k launch, decent traction. He still beat me but I made him drive around me which he did with I believe his best time of the night as well.

Never cut less than a 1.8 60 all night, best was a 1.719 with a slower ET, (17.055), See the ugly section. I've pretty much got the burnout and launch down. A 1.7 60' launch feels pretty cool. The front end comes up nicely, (no air yet), and you're rockin. The first shift comes amazingly fast.

Weather was great, cool, almost cold, (Ask Ryan's girl), with a tail wind.

The Bad.
What I thought was a high end miss I'm pretty certain now is me bouncing off of the Rev limiter. I pretty much did this to varying degrees the whole night. The steeper lobes on my new cam spool the engine much quicker. I have to do a 1-2 shift when the tac reads about 5200 or 5300, 2-3 at around 5800 or 5900. The tac is better when the RPM's aren't going up as fast, difficult thing to get right with consistency. I will get a shift light.

The Ugly
Second run of the night, best 60' of the night, shift 1-2 crisp, 2-Grind,5th, 4th. Pretty embarassing and I pretty much coasted the rest of the way and still beat the rice in the other lane.

Had a great time. Need to talk to PCMForless about my rev-limiter setting. Dyno the car to find optimum shift points and install a shift light. Thanks again Ryan really enjoyed it.

didnt hit my 11's, but im EXTREMELY happy with the results

im pretty damn happy to say the least, car fucking moves

thing is i could have gotten better. those BFG's hook killer. 3300-3500 with a quick clutch slip and the car would take off, no spin at all and no bogging either (cut 2.02-2.06's all night). i just couldnt bring myself to launch higher and risk taking out the rear though. im 110% positive that 4500 rpms would have netted me a 1.8 and 11's, but i dont have the cash to chance it now.

If there was a faster street F-body than Ryan's tonight I didn't see it. Most of the LS1's were high 12's and low 13's. Lots of people were asking me and Ryan if he was on the bottle.

There was a also a tool on a superbike complete with flourescent green leathers who couldn't ride to match his Bo yellow color bike, :roll: His best was high 11's, but he started out with high 12's. The black guys betting on the races were yelling at him trying to tell him how to launch. It was pretty funny.

well i think storing a car with a supercharger is not a real good idea... might get restless. Maybe you need to donate the supercharger to a needy cause, preferably a big ass blue truck with a serious lack of FAST and I'll keep the procharger happy while you beat on the bike... sounds like a deal to me = )
