Finally got a few of these in on Friday, and got to run around in an Inferno Orange SS for a few miles.

The 2SS package with the 6-speed manual and 20's comes in just over $36K. Add the 21" wheel option and it jumps to $40,500.

how was the ride? I think that im going to pick one up when I get out of the academy and start my jobIt actually rides really smooth for the size tires/wheels on it. They're not run-flats so you don't feel every bump. It sits firm and you really have to yank the wheel to get any body roll out of it. One downside to the SS is that it doesn't come with a spare, so instead you get a small air pump under the trunk carpet. That's also where the battery is now. The clutch isn't harsh at all...the throw is a bit long, but GM is apparently coming up with a short-throw shifter for those who want it. It didn't seem to pull down low as hard as I thought it would, but that's probably cause the one I drove had 7 miles on it. There is an abundance of blind spots when you start looking around, and the trunk opening is tiny because of the way the rear fenders are shaped. The gauges and buttons all take some getting used to, but once you're oriented it's not so bad. Aaaaand the scoop isn't anywhere close to functional. Overall it's a fun car to drive.

kev--post pics from underneath if you can. i like those bigger wheels but i'm sure that car will look just as hot on some fatties and skinniesI'll try to get under one tomorrow and snap a few. When I was under it the other day I noticed it's got true duals and the IRS looks just like the one out of the CTS-V's. And as long as you clear the brakes, that would be a mean look.

And here's what the GM 21" package looks like, I'm not a fan...

Those 21" wheels are godawful ugly! They would have looked better if they got rid of the black and those cheesy rivets and just went with the chrome 5 spoke. I still wouldn't pay that kind of money for the car. Although I get what they were going for with the "retro style" gauges I think it's an epic fail. That interior just wreaks of the typical GM cheap plastic looking interior.

Same with the G8 GT - it has the pump in the trunk w/the green (good) tire repair goo that has its own nozzle. Battery is in the trunk as well on the driver's side, nestled in the fender well behind a cover.

there is no such thing as "good" tire goo , that shit creates a huge mess

OP: thanks for posting up the first real good pics I've seen

Wasn't able to get good pictures of the undercarriage because it was on a drive-on rack, but there's only about 1-1.5" of room between the inside of the tire and the inner fender well.

And here are a couple more options installed...the paint-matching engine cover and the racing stripes (after finally going through detail)

I went to Champion to see if they had any yet and the salesman assured me that no dealer has them yet. I told him I had seen on the 5th Gen forum that Hendrick has had theirs for a week or two now. That is just impossible. The guy also told me they weren't allowed to sell any yet but videos have been popping up on Youtube of a few at the strip running high 13's

Its been all over the radio that Champion or University will "unveil" them May the 6th(i think).

Yeah, they are having an invite only thing with food and drinks. The guy gave me one while I was there. If you go to the dealership and talk to a salesman, they should give you one.

I dont like the wheels by themselves but I dont mind them that much from a distance on the car. They could do without the rivets though. I love the car but for the money, Id be driving a Vette. I do agree with the sstony. It would look sick in "kill mode".

No, he did not. And it was on a Mustang Dyno so take it with a grain of salt. If the weight of the car is not entered correctly on a Mustang Dyno, the numbers will be off.

Yeah, I kind of figured it was dyno'd on a Mustang Dyno. Ok looking car, but certainly not worth that kind of money imo.

none of the new cars are worth the kind of money they want for them. if they were the auto industry would be in better shape.

I think its priced right. When the F-bodies were brand new they were low 30's. These are priced low 30's to high 30's depending on what you want. You get a lot more horses then back then improved technology and better build quality.... Ever hear than saying? "Fast.. Affordable... Realiable... Pick two and run with it."

Billy,

Those are some impressive numbers are they some how corrected for flywheel ratings?

-Late Model Racecraft 2010 Camaro SS baseline dyno runs with less than 20 miles on the car
Car put down 358rwhp and 355rwtq straight from the dealership,

-Livernois made 364rwhp and 371rwtq.

Regardless of the dyno numbers I am really excited to see some great vendors stepping up to support this new car.

The CIA and Tune here netted 381/381 on a dynojet. up from a 358rwhp stock pull.

Ok guys, took the car out to Baytown, Tx last night to test our prototype cold air induction system. We did not have a weather station but I can tell you the humidity was high like always in the Houston summers. Temperatures were around 85* at night time. We made a total of 9 passes. 3 stock, 3 tune only, and 3 LMR CAI&TUNE. Here are the averages:

STOCK- 13.46 @109.01

TUNE ONLY- 13.25 @109.88

LMR CAI & TUNE- 13.09 @110.82

Worst pass of the night was a 13.56 and Best pass of the night was 13.03 @111.14.

Will start mass production of our cold air induction systems on Monday. Feel free to email me or just give me a call at the shop to order yours TODAY!

Got this one in today...6-speed automatic. Apparently the autos have an even 400hp, down from the manual's 426. It's got the same rev-matching on downshifts which is pretty similar in feel to the Corvette. And this was the 2SS package which put it right around $35k.

I like the look of the front of the car its just the quarters are jacked up so damn high and they put 55gal mufflers on it, which make it look more cheaply than it should, But a pair of bullits with some fat tips should fix that...
