I need a spare tire for my goose neck. The tires on it now are a 235/80/16 Range E.
Sitting in my shed I have four 235/70/16 BF Goodrich T/A’s and two 215/85/16 Firestone Transforce HT that are a range E.
All six are basically brand new so wear isn't and issue.
I would like to stay with the correct load rating but how much different in height is the 215?
Will the 235/70 be closer to the same size?

They both have a pretty big difference in both width and height, but the 215 is closer than the 235.

Gotcha. Thanks!
..and yeah, it isn't something I wouldn't want to put 1000 miles on but it will work for getting me home.

Yeah the 235/70 would be almost 2 inches shorter. The 215/85 is only about 1/2" shorter.

I can live with half an inch.
Does anyone have a 16x8 8 lug rim sitting around?

8 x 6.5 or the BS ford metric pattern that was 99+? i have an old ford rim 99+ IIRC in my back yard with a tire on it. i'll measure the pattern and let you know exactly what it is....

8 on 6.5
I don't think they make a trailer hubs in any weird bolt pattern.
