It is, man - a blast to drive and handles like a dream. I never thought I'd say it but this "four door" is by far my favorite car that I've ever owned out of 25+ others.

Isn't as close to 13:1 as you can get on A/F supposed to be optimal ? That's just what I've heard - don't know a lot about the intricacies.
There are a few G8s on dragtimes that are stock and running in the 13.3 range in the 1/4. One guy ran 12.597 with bolt-ons (CAI, LTH, Tune).
Anyone have any advice on American Racing Headers, good or bad ? Headers are next on my list.
Here are a few pics (before debadging, tint, and other stuff).

Stock cover vs. carbon fiber. I'll have to take some updated pics sometime soon.
Thanks !

American racing headers are real nice. On the GTO board they have the best reputation as far as fitment goes, so you're in good hands.
Very nice numbers indeed. 25 hp increase in just a tune is awesome!

Nice! I like the G8's in white. Goods gains as well. Stock dyno is 305? Looks like you got some good gains from those bolt ons..

Thanks guys. I never got a stock pull before the CAI and mufflers were on. I just did some checking around and found these two tests that Autoblog did on an 08 G8.
The first pull yielded 286.62 ponies and the second, after a bit of tuning, wrung the bell at 310.37 galloping horses. Factoring in drivetrain loss of about 15%, those numbers are (surprise!) right in line with the 361 horsepower that Pontiac is claiming for the G8 GT.
From what I've seen though, depending on the dyno being used, complete stockers are usually in the 290-305 range.

My brothers G8 put down 305 bone stock. He has Cooks longtubes, CAI, full exhaust minus the cats and resonators, and a tune. He is making 350 to the wheels.

I paid right at $30k for her with the premium and sport package. That got me all leather, 19's, and lots of other amenities. The G8 GXP is another $10k over the GT. But power-wise I've made it to the same ballpark as the GXP and SRT8 so I'm happy.
@ SSTony - I dunno man. I'm torn between these two - the Maggie 1900 and the APS Twin Turbo w/intercooler setup. Both are "roughly" the same price and add "roughly" ~125 additional HP at the wheels on a stock G8GT. I've told myself that I'd stay out of the internals (cam, heads, etc.) but we all know how that goes.
@ Everyone - does anyone have 6L80E tranny experience, or has anyone really pushed one and know what they can withstand ? Does anyone know if the 6L80 and 6L80E are one in the same ? I've searched all over and there's no definitive answer that I've found. I'd just hate to put a blower or turbo setup on and roast the tranny. I'm sure GM could rightfully DENY that warranty claim !
Thanks all for any input.

I know APS Swears there is no threat, but I have a partner in Scottsdale that has an APS on a C5 vert and he just got it back from a hydro-lock from a storm out there. Doesn't rain much out there so go figure... Some how he was able to get his insurance to cover it...

Ahh, excellent point - didn't even think of that. With as much as it rains here and with those so close to the ground it could really be asking for trouble with a daily driver.

Go with the Maggie....positive displacement blowers are where it is at if you can make the HP you want with it.

I've been eyeballing the Whipple's as well - love that whine ! I have no idea if those fit under the stock hood like the Maggies though. I'll have to look into that.
