War Damn Eagle!!

That was DEFINITELY the best time I have ever had in Aurburn, Alabama!! Went up there this weekend and stayed with my cousin. Got to "sit" in the student section, but there wasn't any sitting to it. I was stuck in the aisle for the entire first half, but it was worth it!! First play, 15 seconds into the game, Auburn is up 7-0. Carnell "Cadillac" Williams ran 80 for a touchdown on the very first play.

Oh, one last thing... "Ramma Jamma Yellow Hamma, Go to Hell Alabama!!" :flip2:

We only have one mascot, the Tigers, War eagle is only the "war cry". I found a site that has some stories of where it came from. http://www.univrel.auburn.edu/multimedia/publications/WarEagle.html
How come no one ever asks that about Alabama? At least we have cool mascots... they have an Elephant (that they dont acknowledge) and algae!!

War Eagles is Wukulla high school's mascot... NOT AUBURN'S!!! = )

Also we dont actually have a Golden Eagle at the games anymore. A virus got several birds in the aviary so the eagles and other healthy birds were quarantined. I believe thats what happened, but I forget exactly what went down, but basically some birds got sick so we dont have one anymore = (.

Actually Auburn has 3 nicknames: War Eagle, Tigers, & Plainsmen. The last is not as well known but this question has come up time to time. Since I attended Auburn in the early 80's (that's 1980's) It's been questioned several times (since my brothers went to FSU and the BS that takes place between brothers). I know we always used the two common names when I was there. The third name "Plainsmen" is also the name of the school's paper. Anyway now you know. :)

Yeah forgot about the PLainsmen good call my dad went there, but didnt graduate from there. he transferred to Samford in Birmingham. His brother did the same thing, his dad graduated from there in Fall of 1950 and my older cousin stuart did the same thing in 2000 (50 years almost to the day). My cousin David is a Senior there now. I wanted to go, but tuition was $5500 a semester for out of state students, and then it just went up 17% this year. I got a full scholarship to FSU so my parent's favorite colors went from Orange and Blue to Green!! = )
