I have been looking at the SCT pro racer package. It is very appealing. My question is how much different is the SCT setup than say a Tweecer RT? They both allow you to do the tuning right?

The SCT allows total control of the EEC. Changes areas the TwEEC can't. Also, the SCT will soon be flash version. No need for chip or anything. As to what all is different, I couldn't tell ya. But I can probably find out.

The Mod Depot has good info on SCT.

I can't remeber if it was the TwEECer or the EECtuner. But one would loose its tune if drivin under high voltage lines.

I have had EEC Tuners, a TwEECer RT and an LPT TwEECer. With my current combo, I had problems with all three because of the extensive tranny mods I need. The EEC Tuner didn't have enough memory and flat would not work. The TwEECers had similar problems, although they kind of worked with my tune - but it took some work-arounds. Before the tranny mods the datalogging would seem to work OK for a while, but it always crashed in the middle of a session. After the tranny mods, datalogging didn't work at all- that's when I tried the LPT TwEECer. To be fair, my combo isn't typical and a ton of people get them to work just fine.

I have no problems wih SCT - I've tested it already. In my way of thinking the Tuner and TwEECEr are 'hobby' level tuners - which work great for many people, while SCT is what the Pro's use.

Things I like about SCT as compared to the others: the documentation - most functions are documented, you KNOW what they'll do. This has always been a shortcoming of the others; I get a base tune for MY car with SCT which is pretty darn close to where it should be; The support at this forum and from SCT will be terrifc - everyone involved is commited to this - The EEC Tuner Egroups is OK- but I never got help there - I got the impression, right or wrong, that if you aren't one of the 'in' group, you get ignored. Mike Glover's forum for the TwEECer is actually pretty good. Mike is pretty good about trying to help; SCT covers more cars - by a long shot. The EEC V stuff has been tested and tested and it's rock solid; and the guys behind SCT are really the best the industry has to offer.

my buddy with his lightning and a diablo chip was putting around 420 to the wheels....ditched the diablo and had Ed Clark tune his truck on the dyno...with the motor hot it made 454 @the wheels with the SCT. seems to be good shit. those numbers were not on a dyno jet or mustang dyno, but some other type of dyno....i dont know what it is, but on the dyno jet it made 425.
