No oil pressure to the lifters? New ones won't cure that .

Could be as simple as a clogged pick-up screen. It could also mean excessive bearing wear.

i dont think its as hard as your motors....no taking off all the front accesorries to drop the pan, but ive never tore into a TBI before

It still sits on the K-member which means the motor has to go up for the pan to come out.....atleast I think thats how it is on his truck.

post all the interesting information y'all find out about it, cause it'd be identical to mine (unless its a heavy duty motor)

Drive my car sometime. Friggin 1.6 rollers always sound like your driving around without any oil in the car. I'ts annoying as hell, but if you set the lash the way everyone says, 1/8th turn past zero thats what you get to listen to.

my truck has 1.7's, well both have 1.7's, but the Dodge came with 1.6's stock(i think). mine are loud too.

it's got decent oil pressure if that means anything, it normally runs around 35psi. I hope it's not bad lifters. Post up a word for word on how to fix this problem :P

i guess the noise is just a horrible header leak. the lifters make noise too, but only when you first crank it up. Time to change out the header gaskets with better ones
