ok, I found out this week that my car has a LOW OIL light in it... so I check the oil... it is time for a change and the oil was slightly pass the add mark, so I add some, and get some new oil and a filter... I use AMSOIL 10w/30 full syn in my car and their filter. So, the light appears to go off... at least for the rest of that day, next morning, first thing, it is on again... and has been every morning since or if I start my car after it sits for awhile... seems the light only checks on startup, not while driving. Yet, my oil pressure gauge reads perfect... and I have oil, I have check twice a day for a week now... so I dump the oil and totally change it and the filter, and still, this morning, a light...
the weird thing is I have run the car low before to the add line and in the 4 years I have had the car, I have never seen the light, ever... so do you all think it is a bad sensor? anyone know where it is on the car so I can change it? or disable the fucker....
or do you think there could actually be something wrong...
car runs great though... very weird...
thanks...

Is it the LOW OIL light or CHANGE OIL? The latter can be reset. It sounds like a bad sensor.

it is the LOW OIL.... we have a change oil light too???
I did just hit 100000, could it be a "they want me back at the dealership" light?

Hard to say, with all the tire spinning you do, you've probably only got about 60k actual miles on the car.
Call me crazy, but it seems to me that if you FLY THE FUCKING CAR THROUGH THE AIR AND OVER CURBS you're bound to break something.

my low oil light has only been on a few times and sure as shit i'm low on oil, but i've never had any reoccuring issues once i've added more. the change oil light can be reset when the car is not running, but in the on position and you hold the tripometer reset button fo about 10 sseconds. i run mobil 1 5w-30 synthetic.

Oil level sensor is on the side of the oil pan. It's a plastic POS and not designed to jump curbs you big dickhead. I wouldn't be surprised if you cracked the fucker you crazy bastard.

He may have no sensitive side, but he is the only bastard that told me what I needed to know... lol... thanks man... I will look and see, but I didnt hit the underside of the pan, I think I would have noticed the damage when I was under there changing my oil.

You might not have broke it, but it isn't beyond the realm of possibility that your little flying episode may have jarred the connector loose. It does come out, not easily, but it does. It also just may have gone bad and can be had, for about $40.00 if I remember correctly, (RipOff). Off course it isn't required, other than the annoying light and the possibility of actually not checking your oil. If your pressure is good and the dipstick is showing good oil I say fuck the sensor and ignore the light. You could also get creative and solder in a resistor and then the little light would go out for good.
