this guy over on noleweb keeps talking about this tacoma that he and his dad supposedly built. i have yet to see it but it just seems a little fishy. the numbers he's saying it puts out i'm not too sure about. i wanted to get some opinions over here


well it is a 2002 Srunner (V6) w/a modified TRD supercharger, the block has been bored and titanium sleeves put in to strengthen the block, new lightweigt forged aluminum pistons and rods, cryogenically tempered all metal parts, then a ceramic coat to all moving engine parts to reduce friction, ceramic rings, bigger fuel pump, larger injectors, a custom relocated cold air intake os the supercharger gets fresh air. modified ignition system, extremely low flow headers w/ a 3 inch exhaust, low flow cat and an apexi muffler. We also got an ecu customed to work w/the system and then put in a small extra fuel system to kick in when it get a shot of laughing gas (NOS). if I remember correctly it did 440ish without nos, then just over 520 with

oh and suspention reworked copletely, polyurathane all around and high performance struts

disagreement. Car Club - the whole concept is based on showing off your car and proving it's better than someone else. But then someone else thinks their's is better thus fights start and "split" occurs. As far as S-Factor goes, dont know the whole story but they had problem with another club - Harness Muscle or something as they were stealing S-Factor's logo design or something and S-Factor's president was a really good friends with members from the other club and refused to do anything about it.

now, a stock 2002 tacoma srunner with the 3.4l engine puts out a whopping 190 hp. with it bored and new pistons, intake, and exhaust, and a "modified supercharger", he's saying he gained 250 hp??? i just don't think so.

heres what was done to the supercharger...
it was rebuilt w/a more agressive impeller, to suck in more air, it wasn't a HUGE gain over the standard trd supercharger when it was factory. you can tell the difference when you press the throttle, but it uses the origional housing and everything, my dad did the research for that one, it was sent off to i believe it was jacksonville where they did the work, and it was a custom job, but well worth it in my opinoion) i should note it did change the powerband to become more agressive, as in it takes more power to run the belt now so its a small bottom end sacrifice for a big top end gain

i've heard of titanium sleeves, but not on a cast iron block. that thing is strong enough already. i've heard of them on an aluminum block for strength.

well i dont know... those blue plug wires have to be worth AT LEAST 30 hp... i mean, damn, they are BLUE. And is that YELLOW wire loom i see under the hood. Any good ricer knows that the more yellow you have on your car the faster it is!



and I'm guessing that those are stock exhaust manifolds, and I really dont see how that would support 440hp, but i guess it is possible (in drunken-ricer-land).

hey guys my trooper has a supercharger and i'm running 35 lbs of boost. i can run low 5s with street tires. and with slicks i can pull in mid 3s. i have a 7 speed sequencial shift manual. my car can do upwards of 250mph. it can also kick ass on the skid pad where is can pull 2.1g and do the slalom course at 125mph with out breaking loose.
