View Full Version : Garage lift?

I'm thinking hard about putting a lift in my new garage. But toting around 1,800 lbs of steel is not my idea of how to spend a fun weekend installing the thing. Is there anyone local to the area who installs these critters? I'm looking at probably getting a BendPak two poster unit. I read the specs and it says that my 4 inch concrete floor will be fine for the 10K capable models.

Anyone know of anyone I can call on to install one of these for me? I'd be tempted to buy one locally if I need to do that to get the install.

Hey, if anyone is interested, here's a time lapse video I did of my garage being erected...

Just got the electrical done last week, and it's too cold to finish the floor with an epoxy coating, so now may be the time to do the lift if I'm going to do it.

Thanks!

I might have a lead on that info. I need to make some calls. I see you are in Crawfordville. Let me know if you need any help.

Actually, I got a phone call from someone at Affordable Automotive Equipment out of Orlando who quoted me a pretty decent price for a BendPak 2 post lift with delivery and install. The only thing I worried about is my concrete slab. The expansion joints may be right where the lift needs to be bolted to the floor. Of course, maybe that is a non-issue, so I'll have to check with them (and/or BendPak) to see what they recommend.

Thanks!

If you haven't purchased a 2 post lift yet, I have a 4 post drive on garage/service lift that is brand new and never installed. It doesn't have to be bolted down and comes with wheels to move it around if need be.

They are $1995 plus shipping, but this one is just sitting there taking up room. I'll take $1500 for it.

Hey, thanks for the offer, but I've already decided on the two post BendPak mentioned above. Supposed to be delivered and installed next week.

Hows that engine transplant coming?

Well, the engine was shipped from LME on Thursday, but appears to be stuck in Birmingham. It showed up there early on Saturday and hasn't budged. No one from Southeastern Freight Lines seems to know why. I was told by their customer service that it was because of severe weather conditions in Birmingham. Well, that's odd. I checked the current and historical weather data for Birmingham back through THURSDAY, and not a drop of precipitation at all. Is there some reason that truck drivers in Birminghan shut down just because of low temps? So then I called the Birmingham terminal and talked to some space cadet there. She was WAY out there. According to her, there was snow in ice in Lake Charles, LA that the crate passed through on Friday morning through Saturday early AM that is responsible for it sitting on the Birmingham dock from 11:23am Saturday morning till present.... Still haven't figured out that one, but they are beginning to piss me off.
