whats the difference between these two? one is universal and one is for 83-96 fbodies/mustangs. was it a different transmission from 83-96? i thought the 96 still had the t56? my question is which will fit my shifter better? its a 2000 t56.

I could be wrong but I dont think either will work. I think the only vendor that makes a t-handle that fits with the proper angle is HURST but like I said, I could be wrong.

I have a HURST on my oldsmobile and I hated it at first but I got used to it after a while and now it fits like a glove.

Ok, did a lil research and I was wrong. The Hammerhead will work, which one of the two is still the question. Its an awful picture but you can see the top of one in this pic...http://images.cardomain.com/member_images/3/web/207000-207999/207265_23.jpg The Hurst I was talking about can be found here but it sounds like you already have your mind made up on the B&M. Summit sell the Hurst (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=HUU%2D1530026)

Ok, I went to www.bmracing.com and came up with a little something new, I think. I believe you need the t-handle part number 80741. The 80742 is the same shape but says will not fit the B&M Ripper shifter which has the same thread pattern as a stock shifter.....it has to since most guys use their stock shift knob on aftermarket shifter. Thats how Im looking at it. If I were to buy one, I would go with 80741. Hope this helps and you buy the right one:lol:
