My wife's '02 Protege is coming up on 105K and the Owner's Manual says to have the timing belt replaced. Been calling around to get some prices but curious to know if anyone has had any experience with some local places. I usually do the maintenance stuff on her car and my Speed3, but I don't feel like messing with the timing belt, water pump, cam and crank seals, tensioner pulleys, drive belts, etc.

I called Gem Mazda and they want $650 + tax; A+ Dealer Automotive wants $675; and Auto Super Service Center on Cap. Circle NE wants about the same price.

Any of you had good experience with any other shops that is capable of doing this? Cheapest is necessarily what I'm looking for. Honesty, reputable, and quality work is of more importance. TIA for any info :)

If you don't mind asking your friend, that would be great! Looking to do it in mid-March. Thanks!
