A couple people here have already done business with Precision Shaft Technologies out of Clearwater, but for those that haven't here a recent experience.

I purchased my 3" chromoly DS from them about 4-5 years ago when my stocker exploded. Very good experience from the beginning. Very friendly, helpful, great communication, price was very competitive and it took 3-4 days from date of order to get my custom build driveshaft.

Fast forward to recent experience. For a long time i had a drive line vibration at 65 mph that carried into the 120 range. I've been suspect of my rear ujoint for a little, there is no play but one of the caps always falls off when i take it out and when you spin the cap there is noticeably more friction in the cap than the other ones. I called PST to buy a new rear u joint from them since i dont have a part number or anything for it. Mark immediately suggest i send the shaft back so they can rebalance it for free and inspect the u joints. not problem, ship it out yesterday and he calls me today. There have been some upgrades in technology over the past 4 years and he can replace the ujoints with the same ones i have for free, or he can install the new billy badass ones that are stronger and more precise in their balance and movement and i just pay the difference. So for $45 im getting my driveshaft rebalanced with two top line 1350 ujoints installed.

And im supposed to have it back tomorrow, two days after i shipped it out.

Not bad service, plus their product is pretty badass

awesome. are you for certain this is where the recent vibration is coming from?

nope, but i gotta start somewhere. its not tire related, its definitely rear driveline, the two most common of which are driveshaft/ujoint and pinion angle. after all those are eliminated im gonna replace the tailshaft bushing with a rockland. and if its still there im gonna just drive faster

sounds like a company that sells you the shaft you need and not out to give you one.

What a rip off. they just quoted me $520 to make a mild steel shaft 55" long. thats just the shaft.

FYI, not to steal this thread or not to take anything away from Precision, but I do stock chromemoly tubing & tube yokes from Strange Engineering, and I am local, and hope we have comparable customer service
