Since ethics are intimately related to the exercise of power, what ethical considerations are important in the making of music?

This is an age where music is garbage marketed towards 15 yr old girls that watch MTV. No song will be popular for more than three weeks so it doesn't matter what kind of message it sends because no one will hear it long enough for it to make an impression. The person who came up with the idea about ethics in the music industry should be taken out into the street and shot just like a rap "artist". I'll take my A now.
