What an ass. Make a bet with him. If you run 12's in a perfectly legal S/S car, he's free to tear it down... if he puts it back together and pays for the gaskets and gets you home in time for work Monday morning after finding it perfectly legal.
Thats the problem. He tears it down. He doesn't put it back togther. The cost and time is up to me. I'm torn on trying to be the "first" 12 sec S/S.

Just make a bet with him, if its legal, he has to put it back together. Oh no, you followed the rules but you're too good a driver so you can't race in this class anymore. Nevermind being a measuring stick for other people to shoot for, we're just going to make them settle with not having to be the fastest car built for the class in order to win and rather a mediocre one because I blew it the first time around making the rules.

One crow sandwich coming up. I can eat it while Tony is rebuilding the motor. You know, some of you are just not getting the picture. 12-second cars will not be permitted in S/S. I have tried to not use the term "index", as I know that this is offensive to many heads-up racers. I have tried to worn everyone about what happens to any 12-seond cars, and still, some of you want to push the envelope. Sooner or later people will understand that this class is not aimed at the "quickest and fastest", but the low 14 to mid 13-second guys. I realize that there will probably be some low 13's in there every now and then. But the 12's will take a purpose built car, and that is just not where this class is today, or is going to be tomorrow. We will make a purpose built 12-second Mustang so "uncomfortable" that I can guarantee you that they will not want to be running in the class. Why is this so terrible? If someone wants to build a heads-up race car, there are plenty of classes to choose from. If someone wants to run his street car with very mild mods in Street Stang, why should he be worried about some ringer showing up?

I say go for the twelves and let that ass tear down the car. A rebuild would be worth the satisfaction of seeing his face when he can't find anything wrong with the car. Shave the heads a few thous. before you put them back on. :)

I agree. While he's tearing it down / when he's finished, take plenty of pics and video. We then commence making OWNED pics and posting them everywhere.

Did the class rules change? Does he just change them as they go along? Its kinda funny that he wants to make you go slower. Tony, IMO you are the front runner in the class. Without you and a couple of other guys there wouldnt even be this class.

I don't see how he's upset that he's getting purpose built cars. They're built purposely for the class that he's made the rules for. After that it just comes down to the driver. Its a class that limits mods, not checkbooks. Therefore, just about anybody can be competetive if they can drive worth half a shit. I think he's just scared a 12 second car is going to scare away the 14 second cars. What he should be doing instead is telling the 14 second cars out there thinking of competeing that all you need is a few mods and some tree time and you can be in the running. This would make a lot more sense to being good for the whole FFW organization than trying to piss people off by threatening them for following his rules. He needs to be inviting more people instead of telling the ones already there to go away.

That's pretty much the reason behind this, IMO. I don't agree with George AT ALL, but you know it's true.
If a person with a 14 or a mid-high 13 second car sees that 12's are winning it, and also knowing that the mod list is pretty low so he can't compensate for it, they're just not going to be interested at all in racing in the class. It'd be a waste of money.
But, as i always said...i don't agree with George, and this Street Stang class is the biggest fucking joke ever when it comes to rules and regulations. There's no consistancy or logic, AT ALL. :roll:
