Damn wish i could have gone. Heard teh guy had a twin turbo lingenfelter vette. But heard everyone got pretty good numbers especially FL_Zinc and Lazer01Cobra. Congrats to all. POST UP all numbers though.

Ok, here is my graphs.

whetstone.001 in blue was stock with K&N filter
whetstone.003 is with the chip, pulleys, exhaust, and open air filter

Gt
12-13-2003, 02:12 PM
Now, check this out. I switched from the open air filter right off the MAF, back to my CAI pipe. That puts the filter in the fender. This shows that the car made more torque with the CAI pipe, but needs some fine tuning to get the rwhp #s back up higher.

whetstone.003 = chip setting 3 open filter
whetstone.005 = chip setting 3 cold air pipe

Damn nice #'s Tony!!!

And here is why it did better with the cold air pipe. It leaned it out more...

A little dissappointing really. Same as my numbers from last trip, the graphs almost lay on top of each other. Was hoping for a little more, but Ryan thinks I could be seeing some loss because of the rear end. I'm also running richer than last time where I stayed around 12.8 throughout the run, this time stayed pretty much about a point lower 11.8 average and as rich as 11.3.

But it was a great day alot of fun and a pretty decent lucnch at JB's.

I would have thought you would put down more than that. Thats stock territory (255-265) and O/R mid-pipes are a proven good power mod (~10).

heres my graph

another pull was 389.4 hp and 378.2 ftlbs

kinda confused on why i gained 20 something hp, yet 6-7 mph

CrazyBosnian
12-13-2003, 05:31 PM
Mark, you did loose anywhere from 10-20 rwhp to you rear...So dont be too dissapointed...And ryan u have to look at it as gaining mph on the same exact day, colder weather and diff DA can make a huge diff...Btw get urself a bigger cam :headbang:

281hp/302tq<---------somewhat dissapointing

Thanks for everyone coming out today. It was a ton of fun. The cruise was a blast, 15 obnoxiously loud cars is never a bad thing:D I think I figured out what I want to do with my life, I want a shop like Aaron, its a work of art. Simply amazing. :headbang:

I think the times with your old tires were misleading in the fact that you were spinning some down the track, losing mph. With the DRs, it looks like your planting pretty well, resulting in more accurate MPH. Id imagine with the pullies and better air 120 traps are around the corner.

i was running nittos and cutting 112-112.5 in similar DA with similar weight

you dont gain 5-6 mph, maybe 7 now with the pullies, and only gain 23 on the dyno

something doesnt add up???

Tally TransAm

I'm a little dissapointed with my n/a numbers for obvious reason. Running real rich but throwing a lean code, tuning may take care of it. After the lean code popped up I jetted the nitrous one jet richer just to play it safe, which led to be a big mistake. AFR on the nitrous pull was off the charts by 4100 rpms, 10 to 1 and richer. I wonder what I would pick up rejetting it the way it was... Anywho, here's the numbers:

235.7 rwhp/273.9 rwtq n/a
340.4 rwhp/463.2 rwtq n2o

I hit peak hp at 3900 rpms then it stayed right at 323 all the way across the graph 5300. Drastic dip when it got too rich. N/A peaked right at 5000 rpms, AFR was at 11.2. Peak torque on the gas was at 3800 rpms and stayed above 300 ft/lbs to 5600. N/A torque peaked at 4100 rpms. I'm very happy with my torque numbers obviously. N/A is going to need some work.

Gt
12-13-2003, 07:52 PM
Ya, those numbers N/A are pretty low. First thing, ditch the C&L pipe. I've only heard of people loosing power with that thing.

A stock replacement is in the mail as of Thursday. I had been thinking of ditching it, just never got around to it. I was telling Kinson that I got such a deal on it and the fact that there isn't a big post in the middle of it, I went ahead and got it. I need to clean up my o2 sensors someday too. After seeing the AFR graph, I'm fairly certain its throwing the code because they're just gunked up. Hopefully a lean code isn't doing shitty stuff making the computer do other shitty stuff.

quick question--everyone's dyno chart started well below 3k rpm. mine started at like 3200. i did notice that my max torque was at that range--is that the reason.

Greg Kulbick
12-14-2003, 11:31 AM
The guy at the shop that did mine started at 3200 and 3400 on mine too. I thought they would have started lower. I wanted to see the window switch kick in too.

Gt
12-14-2003, 11:34 AM
The runs start where u want them to start. I started mine @ 2000-2300. If the car was an auto, its hard to get them to start lower then 3k, cause they want to downshift out of your 1:1 gear.

Also, to those that want to compare thier runs. Place the graphs over each other etc. Download Dynojet's Run Viewer here (http://www.dynojet.com/viewer/RunViewer7.0.1.0.zip)

Then I uploaded the files from yesturday too here (http://www.tallahasseemusclecar.com/dyno/12-13-03/)

I'm sorry if I didn't get everyones file, but I didn't have everyones last names. And I was just grabing what I could guess that was ours.

You are getting a chip already? Do you plan on more mods because you would just have to retune it anyways. Maybe a FPR and drop the pressure a little?

only thing i would suggest is that SCT software. Dial in the air/fuel, along with adding timing advance. You'd pick up some nice power with that.

Plus you've got room to grow since you have full control over everything.

Well, I've had an intermittent nasty breakup/miss above 5000, but made a run anyway to see if the AF ratio could help me narrow down whether it's spark or fuel. Started at 2500 and she can usually rev to 7000 with no problem. This is what I got before I shut it down:

http://www.indiancreeksupplies.com/Dyno Run 1.jpg

Pretty bad graph, but the AF was a rock solid 11.7 once I started the run (not ideal, but could be a lot worse), so it wasn't fuel. Last night, I put new copper plugs in. Guess what? ;)

The platinums I was running have the tips coated with platinum that flakes off after about 10K miles (my guess). Switching to copper (1.25 each) fixed the problem. Now the car screams all the way to 7 grand.

So when is that next dyno day?

platinum plugs = bad!

They are NOT performance plugs.

hey guys,
we recently changed the tune on my chip to add like a degree of timing and lean it just a little bit...
so my old dyno numbers were 424 rwhp and like 393 rwtq, and now
442 rwhp and 396 rwtq. id like to see more torque, but the curve did flatten a little and stays about 350 ft lb above4K all the way to 6500 which is where we pull the car to. :qball:
