Anybody heard of this place ?
any good or bad stories !

i had a clogged cat replaced there @ fs customs.
they seemed to be good people !
he showed me a few thing that where wrong on or with my engine
so a few months left i put my camaro back in the shop @ fs customs.
so iam having engine work done and iam having a few problems.
iam hoping things work out for the better !

so i went up there today and i got my title back and they said they will make things right !
so after runnin my jabberbox for 30 mins they said they would brake down my motor to see if it can be rebuilt.
so if it can't i have to find or by a short block ! i address all the "issues" with th owner and he wasnt happy !
so ill report more as it happens !

well i was givin a offer for free labor if i find another v6 short block !
iam going to call them again wensday to see if they got my engine out
and got it broken down and ready for a machine shop !
i wondering if i should take this to court my lawyer said it not worth the time and effort !
iam pretty much happy with free labor and getting my shortblock rebuild at (my cost) and reinstalled back in my car!
but i still feel that i shouldnt have to pay for the shortblock rebuild or another engine if my block is bad !
only bc i brought them a good running motor that need a intake gasket and my ehxaust mainfold retighten !
it too the point that i had so many issues when getting my ca back the 3 times ! now it at the shop iam at a loss
right now !

i was driving the car when it happend ! hes said the car overheaded !
i have the fan on a toggle switch its all was been like that !
the fan works !
the car never over heated while i drove it around tally !
even in the summertime !
i think its something mechanical that is wrong and it happend at the shop !

well heres a list or the work that was done by the shop on my 3.1 v6
intake gasket set (upper and lower)
headgaskets
all the engine gaskets (conversion set)
new clutch set
new front and rear seals on my bw t5
flywheel machined
timing set
engine rear main seal
headbolt set
a dowel pin (onmotor)
a new dampner set
ignition module

i got my car back with these wrong
no gas (it had 75 percent full when dropped off on a flat bed) ot it back on e
battery terminal loose
vacum lines wrong
a cut blow buy hoses
fuel pump relay wire unplugged
positive battery cable hangin loose
and my fan hangin loose

i got my car back twice and it had to go back to the shop twice !
i havnt paid a dime yet bc my car ran worse before than i got it towed too the shop now it dosent run at all !
iam not one to bitch and moan but iam still pissed .
i really dont wanna go to court unless i have too and its looking like it more and more !
all of these issues were address with the owner and a.s.e certified mechanic @ the shop !
they wanna make things right but i still have to pay to get my short block rebuilt or find another motor !

I do have a question ?
If you were going to get another engine, why not just go ahead and swap something in, like a 350?
It would have been a much wiser choice IMO!
A side note, I have fond memories of my 92 RS (even though it had a 305!)

mac i just want them to fix what they messed up !
i need the lil v6 bc its good on gas ! and thats what brought them as a running engine in my runnin car.
i have a another camaro that has a v8 in it .
all in all i want them to fixed what they messed up.
as fas as getting another motor i dont want to get one bc the shop is bucking me out of another engine
i dont bitch and moan much but i will never be gotten over on !
as far as me being exiting person i try !

if you can tell them to pull the motor as you and your attorney would like second opinion on what caused the motor to go. they dont have to know you dont have an attorney yet

with all that was done i cant see the car overheating unless they never put water in it

well he did by pass my heater core wit a small hose that ended up leaking.
i beleive he didnt put the oil back in my motor ! when i pulled over on weems i left the fan runnin till he got there.
the partner ask the mechanic did he check the oil so he pulled the dipstick and there was non on it !
he wiped it a second time and there was little to non the stick.
they towed the car back to the shop ! i made a big fuss like 4 days later when i got back in town !
iam callin another lawyer in the morning and then iam calling the shop to see how far they gotten on my car !
i mean if the car had water/cool and oil what whould make the engine overheat ?
ill let you guys know more later !

they pulled the motor and broke it down ! so i called them on my lunch break today. so over the phone i was told a connection rod broke !
so iam going up there tomorrow to see the block and heads for myself and expect the engine !
as it stand the shop is giving me free labor on putting back in and he going to fix the issue with my fan so it off the toggle switch !
but as it stands iam think that i should have everything checked out at a machine shop and the machine shop redo my heads put it back together.
so all the shop has to do is drop the motor back in the car . the motor has around 84,000 miles on it !
i alreday told them i have a lawyer the seemed shook plus i have 3 other people willing to go to court bc things have happen to there car !
all in all there argument was the motor was over heated and then the connecting rod broke !
ill post more as i find things out thanks again fellas !

well there stickin with the free labor thing iam going up there tomorrow when i get back in tally tomorrow moring ! to get all the old parts and check out my recipts !
i got a deal on the rebuild with car quest,pcc , iam gonna call kevin's to see if he can do but there still gonna fix the fan too iam not happy but i need my car and most !
layer say its a waste of time so iam not gonna bother !i just wanna get it all over with and get my camaro running safely again !

Hey just my 2cents i helped garret get fs customs started and after six months of being there i got sick of garret fuckin up everything he is a decent mechanic but he seems to forget stuff and is constantly goin in over his head we had a caddilac northstar come in with a oil leak and after he got ahold of it we ended up having to rebuild the motor cause he fucked somethin up and it cost him a ass load of money i would make him pay to get it fixed somewhere else

hey kenny glad to hear from you ! i just want my car back runnin and in good runnin order !
well iam not ok with garret rebuilding my lil vg ! but iam ok with him putting it back into my car !
but my lawer told me dont worry court and a lawsuit its noth workth it !
ill call rick tomorrow about letting the down town carquest rebuilding my short block and heads
and letting garret putting my engine back in the car ! iam ok wit all of that bc all the labor is free !
but it has cost me parts and being with out my car for almost 2 months !hes is a decent mechanic as stated
but i feel i got fucked and i let rick know ! and the best he could come up with was the deal he gave me !
sad enough i jus dont see rick paying for nother shop rebuilding and installing my engine !

no i talked with with a jean or gene and scott hear the whole phone convo over at carquest on duval st.
and he said his dad is a machinest and he might be able to work there for a few months part time !
i was told i need to call back in two weeks to see whats going on !

well iam gonna gonna get it the shortblock and the heads redone @ carquest on duval it 500 bucks!
iam gonna be looking for a place for go through my borg warner t5 so i know ill have a good drivetrain
seeing that i just got my rearend rebuild ?
any good place to get my t5 rebuilt ?

well i had to get another complete motor. carquest said that my old motor would need a sleve! so i got another complete engine for 150 with 153,000 miles on it!
carquest redid the heads and said it would cost more than my budget to get the short block rebuilt.
so i might as well get the short block looked at and freshed up@kevins .
ill give kevins a call in the morning !
so let the i told ya sos and the flaming start know.
what can i say i very hard headed and i have to learn the hardway lol

well a really late update my engines getting rebuid @ kevins and i moved back to tallahassee so my cutlass and my 92 camaro are @ home with me ! i gotta about 450 left on the engine and the people @fscustom worked things out with me got everything in writing and when the engine is done there reinstall everything and fixed my lights and the "bypass" they installed on the car . anybody else have problems with this shop ?
they have a new ower well oweners and new management .
