I have had an account with Wachovia for years. I have 3 automatic drafts taken from the account every month. I had a problem with one of the companies that do an auto draft so I decided to stop the draft. I went to my local walkalloverya branch to stop the autodraft. I was told I would be charged 35.00 for this. I made sure that they understood it was not a stop payment on a check or a stop payment of an autodraft that had already been submitted for that month. I was still told there was this fee. I took the time to check with 3 other banks in town (LARGE BANKS BTW) and none of them charge this fee.

I called Walkalloverya and asked again about this fee. The woman I talked to started to get an attitude with me when I stated 3 other banks did not charge this on this type of account and autodraft cancelation. Now I am getting a little pissed. Her attitude did not help matters any.

I then called the main 1-800 number and the first woman I talked to answered the phone with an attitude like I was disturbing her. BTW this was after a 10 minute or longer on hold after pressing all the right buttons to try to get a real person. She got a SERIOUS attitude with me. Now granted I was not the nicest person in the world at this point, but I was not cusssing, yelling or insulting, just pointing out facts.

I know this has gone long I am ranting.. lol

I asked for her supervisor, she kept on and on, so I did get loud at this point and every time she tried to talk I would get louder demanding a supervisor.

Finally the supervisor got on. I was nice as I could be at first. Damned if that woman didnt get an attitude. Supposedly they are #1 in customer service. I asked her how they got that they said by the customers surveyed... DUH I guess that makes me #1 in customer service because the customers I asked said I was the best in town.

Needless to say for a 35.00 charge they wanted to charge they lost my checking, savings and securities. I know they dont care and I know I wont "shut them down" but if I can take 1 other person away from them I will be happy.

We moved from FCCU to Premier and no regrets, free checking and ATM fees reimbursed.

At my job, we were told that Premier has been issued a Siece and Decist from the FDIC, so they will be getting shut down here some time in the future. Their Commercial President has already left and come to work for us (Hancock Bank)...not saying you have to leave premier, but you want to watch carefully who the FDIC is going to get to buy them out...they have already been asking and Hancock is one that they came to...in fact, the FDIC has called us for every failing bank that has come under FDIC control since I started working there, and from what I have been told...long before that.

Whatever bank or CU you go to...just do your research and make sure they offer what you need and there is not all that fine print that associates don't tell you about or do what I call "half truths"

If you have any questions, shoot me a PM...I am a Senior FSA with Hancock Bank, worked as a Branch Manager for Bank of America, and did Independant Financial Advising. Be happy to help anyway I can, even if you do absolutley nothing with my bank or me.

I went with BB&T they have been in business since 1873. They were one of if not the only bank to pay dividends during the great depression. They were able to pay dividends during this recession. I know the people that run the newest one on Monroe personally. I trust them. Thanks for the offer Oki.
