That's how my Yukon XL sounds in the morning before it heats up. I have the 8.1L and everybody thought I have a diesel when I start it up I even was suprises the 1st few times. Once the engine is warmed-up the slaping is gone due to the heat and expansion of the pistons.

i thought it was only a problem on certain years like 99-01 :shrug:
