ALLIES VS AXIS

Allies vs Axis is held the first Sunday of December each year to commemorate Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1942. This event is unique in that it splits the competitors into two sides based on their vehicle's nationality. The Allies are composed of all the American and British vehicles, while the Axis are the German and Japanese. French have the choice of driving for the Free French Allies or the Axis. Italians are Axis for the morning and Allies in the afternoon. Swedes are neutral. Scoring is done by JK Jackson, in such a fashion that the Allies always win. We can't ever really figure out how he does it.

The event opens earlier than regular Dixie events to allow our Axis cars to perform the 0753 Bombing Run. Gates open at 7AM, so expect to leave much earlier than usual if you want to make it in time for the opening ceremony. Registration still closes at 0930 for all of you whiners who want to sleep in.

Also, don't forget to bring a package of toilet paper for the Second Annual "Wipe Up The Competition" at Allies vs. Axis!
Please help us by donating the most requested and needed item for the Tallahassee-Leon Shelter in serving the homeless. The number one donation needed by The Shelter is of all things, toilet paper. They use 48 rolls of toilet paper a day, over 1400 per month. The Dixie Region SCCA goal is to donate a month's supply of toilet paper to The Shelter. Please bring a package of toilet paper on the day of the Allies vs. Axis event. If you can't bring toilet paper, we will accept donations of $10 and we will purchase the toilet paper for you. If every entrant donates a 24-roll package of toilet paper, we will exceed our month supply donation goal. Please be a part of the Dixie Region supporting The Shelter.

This event is held at SGMP near Cecil, GA. Click for directions from the Bradfordville Meet to SGMP (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&doflg=ptm&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=100511773165014821484.000494b83d29f26d98e92&ll=30.805552,-83.806458&spn=0.92003,1.783905&z=10).

Basic Requirements:

Class your car if you can. The SCCA Rulebook is available online (http://www.scca.org/documents/Solo_Rules/2010_scca_solo_rules.pdf) for assistance classing your vehicle and provides class requirements and limitations. Feel free to PM me for any additional help.

Tech Requirements:
Seat belts present and functional
Brakes in good working order
Throttle cable and spring in working order
Battery secured
All loose objects secured in a compartment or removed from the car
Suspension must not have any loose or excessively worn components
Tires must not have any cords showing, blisters, or leaks
Snell Approved SA, K, or M helmet
Fluid systems must be at appropriate levels and leak-free
Numbers must be easily visible from both sides of the car. Decals, decal magnets, shoe polish on windows or painter's tape on the body are all acceptable

Just be reasonably sure that something isn't going to fall of, break or otherwise fail and cause injury or death to yourself, others, or vehicles.

Basic Accessories:
Tire pressure gauge (the vented ones are very good to have)
Tire pump/Air compressor/Pressure Tank
Painter's Tape/Shoe Polish (Car numbers)
Sunscreen (take it from someone who's come back pretty red and toasty, you need this stuff)
Water
Tools and Parts

Be sure to have everything you need in the car and everything that you don't out of the car the night before; a little preparation prevents you from forgetting something you need in the morning rush to get going. Most AutoXers will be happy to lend tools, air, or gauges, along with a helping hand if you need it. The Novice Dudes will be hosting a Novice Walkthrough of the course shortly after registration closes for all of those who wish to attend.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me or post your question here.

Post if you're planning on going or cruising with us.

Final Note: For those of you that usually cruise with us, I am definitely going to make it out for the Bombing Run, so those who want to be there at 0700, we are leaving Publix at 0545-0600. Yes, it's early as all getout, but that's that. If you are not there by 0600, we won't be there. We're not stopping for gas at the Texaco, either, so gas up the night before.
