Refrigerator advice...

Fridge quit working. I've never had one worked on before, anybody got any recommendations? It's a Kenmore side by side if that helps.

Does the light come on inside, as in is the fridge still getting power ? I know some of the compressors have a reset button on them, much like the motors in garbage disposals do - maybe check that to see if there is one and if it's popped. Did the thermostat "mysteriously" get moved ?

The light comes on, the compressor is warm and I hear it click like it's coming on and off. Thermostat is set right. I don’t know if it's a coincidence or not, but last Thursday I pulled it away from the wall and vacuumed behind it and cleaned underneath it. Friday morning it was working, went to the Chick-Fil-a Bowl, come back Saturday night and the freezer part had quit working, but the fridge part still worked, got up Sunday morning and the whole damn thing had quit.

You are exactly right. The guy from Clarks came out today and confirmed that my compressor was dead. $800 to fix so.... it's new fridge time. Probably get the extended warranty on this one..

Went to Sears first to get a baseline for a price. Went to HHGregg but Jenna wasnt working but the guy that helped us said he shared sales with Jenna so hopefully she will get a cut. They beat Sears by $300 off the MSRP. I had never been to HHGregg but will be going back. It was a good experience. Thanks for all the help from TMCA !
