Ok well we took the car to an auto place today for an evaluation to see whats up with everything. Well they called early morning.

1)Heater core is completely shot and someone had already by passed it so they new it was broke.

2)The radiator is bursting at the seals.(So i need a new one)

3)Front brake pads have 5% left on em and the back has 20% So i have to do those.

4)Last but not least i need a new serpentine belt.

Oh yeah my Power steering hose is al fucked up and im leaking that

So they wanted bout 2 grand to fix everything FUCK THAT i can do everything but heater core and power steering lines i dun know what the hell to do when it comes to hardlines. So if u guys have any suggestions on a cheaper place and a good place to get the car fixed plz let me know cause the heater core and power steering are goin to be bout 700 for those.


So after driving to the lot we go to McDonalds on monroe. Well were sittin inside and Joey looks out and goes ur car is smokin, so i run outside pop the hood and one of my fucking radiator hoses has busted (lower radiator hose) so coolant is everywhere. So i get in and start it up and see how quick it is goin to heat up and see how far home i can get. Well i start her up, get into reverse then the car just shuts off. then it won't start back up. Does anybody know if this is do to lack of coolant or any of that stuff or if the computer will not let the car run with like no coolant and a busted radiator hose. So right now it is sittin at the McDonalds on Monroe street.

sorry 'bout your luck. when you say not starting--not firing up or not even rolling over well? i work with boats and have seen nightmares from an overheated engine. :jaw:

well got up early this mornin ran to pep boys got a hose and some coolant and went to mcdonalds and changed it and it started and got home. so that problem is fixed after taking a shower in antifreeze, now just have to do all the other things i listed above.

Well, my recomendation, for the PS lines, go to the junkyard and get the whole line.

I got the car from a small dealership in ft. lauderdale i don't think he knew bout any of this he didn't know much bout the car cause he hadn't had it on the lot long. The only thing he new about was the headlight gear that was stripped and he knocked off a couple hundred bux for that.

Sounds like coolant got on your opti and it freaked out. Since its a 96, your opti is vented and it "dried" out and that is why you were able to start it after it sat. As soon as I get home, Ill take a look at everything and kinda show you what you need to know about your LT1. Believe me, you learn a lot about your motor when you break everything. :lol:
