i have a question about the o2 sensors mounted in the stock exhaust pipes. on the stock setup, there were three of them. 2 on one cat and 1 on the other. i'm going to change to a single exhaust setup. how would i work this?. do i use something like this?

and then make put another sensor somewhere? what will it do to my computer and to the mixture?

LS1s have 4 O2 sensors stock. Two pre(front) and two post(rear) cat. You can EDIT the rears out or get simms, but you must retain the fronts. Fbodies come with the rear O2s mounted onto the y-pipe. Just get some headers and place the front O2s in the collector, and simms for the rear O2s.

i can't get any headers for my truck. nothing will fit. the only thing that will fit with my truck are the stock 98-99 exhaust manifolds, and even those i have to modify somewhat.

the problem is, i don't know where to put the first 2 sensors. this is what my manifolds look like. i had to cut the flanges off and weld on a section of 2.5" pipe to clear everything. what i'm thinking of doing is just drilling a hole in the pipe and tap it and put it in there. i'll put it as close to the engine as possible. think that will be ok?

Yeah the stock location is about 1-2" from the manifold collector. Youll be fine putting them in that pipe about an inch or two down.

that MAY work but not sure

any ls1 shop, like thunder or speed inc, will have o2 simms in stock for about 80-90 a pair

you can check on ls1.com or ls1tech to see if any are for sale in the classifieds.

ps. you dont need o2 simms for the car to run right, all they do is get rid of the light

i'll just do them later. as long as i have the front 2 o2's in there i'm ok, right?
