Well, today is the day my car slapped me upside the head and said no. My buddy and I tried to do my clutch and flywheel today, but just couldn't get it done. We got all but 3 bolts off and finally gave up and put it back together. The top 2 tranny bolts and the top starter bolt we just couldn't get off with it on jackstands. Called Frank and I'm gonna drop it off at Prestige when I get back into Tally in a couple of weeks. Oh well, should have done that in the first place.

Those top tranny bolts are the ones that gave T, JD, and myself all kinds of grief when we were working on T's transmission.

what you need is a couple really long extensions with a universal and socket on the end. Or some determined guys (Bo and JD) and two wrenches.

ya...try 2-3 ft. of extensions and a u-joint. you may need more or less but that's about what it took on my car and it was a snap.

Getting the tranny off is the biggest problem. We were having to work on jackstands and just didn't have enough room to work and try to get all of those extensions, etc. If we got the tranny off we would have been finished and back up in about an hour. My friend could only help and let me use his place and tools yesterday. Oh well, it'll be done soon enough. Then gears!

I have an SUV jack that could probably get the car up high enough to have some room to work :D

yea i'm takin my car to a pontiac dealer in quincy (sp?) sometime soon for a new clutch and pressure plate instalment. originally took it to a guy down town that found out he didnt have the part to hold the motor up when u drop it down or something like that so he couldnt do it so now we gotta go all the way to quincy, oh well its worth it i guess
