do you guys ears ever play tricks on you with your car???

i swear everytime i open my hood with the motor running i hear new ticks, knocks, taps, etc.

but they are always really faint and i can never pinpoint where they are coming from

i wonder if they are real or im going insane, but its really bugging me. . .

i could have sworn i heard piston slap the whole drive to pennsylvania from here over the summer.

i thought i was crazy. now that i think of it... i wasnt just hearing things. :lol:

nice, yeah i always hear real faint knock or slap when i have the radio on/ a/c goin, or windows down at speed, but once i try to listen for them theyre gone

my car has plenty of crazy noises...not sure if some are natural noises the engine makes or a noise of something breaking :shrug:

mine is the same way but i think its just me. i hate when im at a redlight and i hear a LOUD tick or somethin and i think its my car, then i realize its the one next to me lol.

I do the same thing. It's only because you are so in tune with your car. Every time I'm in it I think I hear a different sound that shouldn't be there. I do try and ignore it for the most part and just to enjoy that it's running good. But I'll tell you I've always got my eye on the oil pressure and temperature.

Happens every damn day. Most of the time I just turn the radio up and hope my car doesn't explode :-| . Hasn't yet so I guess it can't be that bad.

actually i had just pulled out of my complex on pensacola st one night and i had some drag blocks on. i laid the rear out and started draggin it and BAM. didn't know that sewer cover was there. bent my frame a little bit. took a chunk out of the concrete around the cover. it was sticking up about an inch or so. it was dark and i never saw it. scared the shit out of my gf.
