got my exhaust on

and it is the BEST sounding exhaust ive ever heard. i know you heard me say i wish my car sounded like a mustang with dumps, uh uh, not anymore. after four catbacks i finally got the sound i want and it is badass

louder than before at idle, in fact idle is pretty damn loud, but it is quiter than before at 1300 and up, even wide open. no rasp at all, very smooth sounding. makes the cam sound much more prevelant. i love it

ground clearance is about .5" less cause of the cutouts, but it all tucks up very nicely and there is plenty of room

i'm a moron. so now that i said that... why is one side of the "y-pipe" cap't off and doesn't running the pipes back together lose the benefits of dual exaust?

are you talking about the black cutouts? those are so you can just take the 3 wing nuts off and run open headers at like the track (or street if you wanted). i guess thats what you're talking about.

on each side of the ypipe there is a cutout, so i can uncap them in about 2 minutes and run open headers

as for the benefit of duals, the only real benefit is scavanging from an x or h pipe, and a well designed ypipe will do the same

since it is a dual 3" inlet and 3.5" outlet, i wont lose any flow

1st and 2nd are basically useless so ill have to get some dyno or track time so see gaines over old exhaust and with cutout

oh yeah 96 WS6, i talked to the exhaust guy and he said he would charge 50-70 to put my old exhaust on another car just to give you an idea

Ok thanks i can do with that. Now ur old exhaust is it dumped like ur new one or does it go back over the axle into the muffler then out both sides.

i rode in a guys car with duals today and it had rasp, this just sounds awesome

96 ws6, it goes all the way back and exits through the stock exhuast cutouts in the bumper. the tips are pimp to, ill take pics tonight and post them for you

nice...there is a local muffler shop in town that is gonna make a custom 3 inch exhaust from turbo all the way down to muffler for only 120 bucks.

normal driving is great, i find myself shifting at higher rpms than before cause i used to shift when i heard rasp and now it isnt there
