well I got this 1947 Willys CJ-2A 4x4 jeep as a Christmas present from my grandfather it looks amazing you just have to stand far enough away and ignore the chunks of the missing seat cushions, and the ruined motor along with transmission :P it was my grandfather’s first car and me being his only granddaughter out of 5 grandchildren (thats 3 cousins one brother) naturally he gave it to me right? well I have absolutely know idea how to go about fixing up this vehicle so I decided to just pick up on the trade from forums like this, catalogs, magazines, internet, and all the men in my entire family 's advice . I’m really just hear to observe
9948 it's still in Belmont Ohio my uncle is bringing it down in a month

Awesome!!
Look forward to some pictures.
Those things are like go carts. Parts may be a PITA if ya go original on her but they are not hard to work on. There are some killer jeep forums out there.

You cannot take enough photos and videos BEFORE you start any work, then as each component is removed. The great thing about that jeep is there were a lot of Jeeps and almost all of the parts were interchangable. You should be able to get through a full RESTO with some guidance, patience and plenty of web searching and swap meets.
Bringing your Granddad's first ride back to it's full glory will be the most amazing deal for each of you. Maybe the Cousin's will pitch in effort and support and everyone can share in honoring old Pops?
Step one is plan, plan and plan some more then develop your budget...
We have excellent resources in the TLH, so don't hesitate to ask!

When you get it running, are you going to take it offroading?

Definitely going to rebuild it for off road driving. Going to completely rebuild the motor and transmission, going to add a skid plate, brand new suspension system, brakes, roll cage, bumper, winch, and Radial tires! My grandfather is going to pay for all of this as long as I put it together by myself with only the help of my cousins. I know it’s going to be a long hard trial and error process but for some reason I’m still so pumped for it to get here and start working!

That is a pretty sweet deal.
Good luck with it!
I don't know what other forums you are on but for any technical or offroading advice you or you cousins may need, check out these forums also:

Nawh. The factory axles don't like a lot of power. I would just restore it and only modify it for being a little bit better for wheeling.

Uh oh..
Hopefully this isn't too late.
1st, don't let them know you are a female.
2nd, stay in the newbie forum.
3rd, If y'all do have a tech question, make sure you search a lot before you ask.
Pirate is one of the rougher places on the internet.
