someone give me some specs on the '01 cobra. last night i pulled up to what i thought was an red '03 cobra vert but after the 3k launch and pulling a car length til 80, i'mfiguring it was an '01. why weren't they built in '02?

Preparing for the 03 and making sure they didn't have any bugs like they did in the 99 Cobra. 02 was a short model year anyway and SVTs typically don't come out till a little later in the model year. SO late introduction, short model year, pointless release with the changes planned for 03.

rated at 320 hp and 317 ft lbs of torque....
remember, the cobras have an IRS, so theyre not really all that great from a stop....theyre more for cornering.
also, the 4valves love to be revved, thus they love some nice, low gears. the factory 3.27s just make those cars dogs....i wouldnt put nothing less than 4.10s if i had one...hell id probably go with 4.30s or even lower.
so if it was pretty stock, with stock gears, being a vert (heavier), with less gear to get it out the hole im suprised you didnt beat him down worse.

well to be honest, my driving sux--i have a bad tendency to let the clutch out before i get it into 3rd and it happend again during that race--but i kept him at my ass end.

i feel ya man...ive improved a lot in the past few months....but theres nothing i hate more than completely raping a car that shouldve been a good race, and normally would be, but the driver just sucks. me and a buddy of mine in a lightning raced a Z06 and we just destroyed him. cars and cars. i was totally not satisfied with that victory cause i figured id still win, but not that bad...i got out of it halfway through 4th and he was still nowhere to be seen.

what kind of shifter do you have? get a nice shifter with the offset/preload so you dont miss that 3rd!

It came with the hurst from slp and i've added the lou's ss which has a nice short throw. but not short enough to not miss 3rd.

what's that lightning got to rape a zo6 like that? i need to know what to stay away from.

i've had my car for over a year and you'd think i've had this shifting thing down, but it seems i always choke when i'm street racing. hopefully the track will be a different story.

he SS are harder to drive than mine...my freind has a 2001 black SS. and he let me dog the shit outta it cause he didnt know how to drive....i had lots of fun...but the stock shifter didnt like to power shift that much..i had trouble and ended up just quick shifting it

i have a hurst shifter i have tryed all the shifters and i like the hurst the best and i have got it so i can hit 3rd 98% of the time.my revs are so quick that i find my self stumbling sometimes,in a matter of seconds i shifted 4 times so...
