Glad y'all are having luck with Spec. I keep reading about people having problems with Spec, if they are making any kind of power.

From what I've been reading its pretty mixed, hit or miss. Some people love them, some people hate them. Some have drawn out problems, some had chatter that went away after breakin.

ya, I know Chad up in Tifton had a Stage 3 or something. In a 10 second Stang. It lasted like a pass or 2. I've also read about some living in other 10 second cars. shrug

I'm a big fan of Spec, I had a Stage 2 in the Mustang. FWIW, most of the guys on ls1tech who list their clutch are running Spec Stage 2 or 3 or higher, not many complaints there.

Neil can you email me a price on a Stage 3 with the X pad please?

A friend of mine (SSEEYA's brother) used to have a spec stage 2 I think it was, in his blown '97 SS. He said that it felt real good but he ended up getting in a wreck and totaling the car so I don't know about the longevity of the clutch. I was thinking of making my next clutch a spec but now I'm not so sure.

I was goin to get a Spec clutch no question. But after reading a bit I held off. I probably will still end up getting a clutch from them. They did replace Chad's clutch when it died quickly. He sold it tho, didn't try it again. They have customer support covered which is a big plus.

Like Jon said, the f-body community for the most part seems to be pleased with Spec.

Would a stage 2 still allow me to slip the hell outta it or would it grab to much?

I slipped my Stage 2 with no problems...

Surely you can do better than that... JD's Performance sells the Stage 2 for a Mustang for $289 with free shipping.

The stage 2 is still a disc. It would depend on your driving style. Feel free to call them or see their site. They are very descriptive about the clutch usage. The number if you wanted to call would be 1-800-828-4379.

But yes the Stage 2 would still allow for regular driving but hold like hell when you dump it.

Thanks

A stage 2 would still allow you to slip it, it's not till the stage3 (puck design) where you would have issues.

No problem the mustang clutch retail is only $319 unlike the TA which is $469.
You need a mustang Clutch $289 is no problem.

You can apparently slip the newer Stage 3's with the X pad, although I think it's a tad more difficult.

I dunno andy. Does your stage 2 slip pretty easily. I know mine doesnt. IMO I think it would hurt you tony.
