Been registered for a bit, but never posted.... not sure how long I'll be staying in Tallahasse.... buuut figured I'd post to at least say I made an effort to be "seen". Wouldve been nice to go to the dyno trip if I would have known ahead of time, but oh well. Last time I dyno'd my 88 Camaro it put down 77rwhp (Dyno in Mobile, AL 'Professional Engine Service'... I'm from Pensacola). in third gear... stopped pulling at ~3500rpm in 4th. The guy told me to go ahead and get off the rollers after the 2nd run... lol... too much stress on the motor. Hopefully the 3.4L will put down decent (? ... decent = triple digit :p ) numbers next time I dyno it. Ignition problems and stuff were fixed since then. Runs much better, but still has taller than stock tires (26.1") and 3.23 gears instead of the stock 3.42s. Ah well.

Shit... we can photoshop that thing. Add an extra "0" to all the labels on the sides, and then move the decimal over one place in the MAX numbers. Instant 772 hp!
haha welcome!

The dyno was back when I still had my 2.8L. Messed with the car some before the motor came out and timing was 2* (stock = 10*) and some other stuff was wrong with it. I could not even spin the wheels dumping the clutch at like 2500 rpm in the rain on the way back from the dyno. .... and to think it used to be an automatic. Couldn't get out of it's own way.
Hopefully the 3.4L (got it for free and rebuilt it... honed cyl, milled heads, cleaned valves, new valve guide seals, all new gaskets, new cam/lifters, blah blah blah) in it now (more cubes, bigger cam..2030, better heads, bigger injectors) will put down a little more and be more smooth. It's definitely more drivable. It spins going into second WOT now fairly decent. Can't wait till I go home (Pensacola) this summer and yank a V6 rearend from another thirdgen and put it under mine. Should be much better. 3.4 is supposed to be 160hp/200ftlbs. [/Rambling] :p

Wellllll...a low 17 is average for a stock v6 third gen from what I've gathered.
Back when I put 77rwhp down (even w/ a 20% loss thats not even 100hp at the flywheel... stock was supposed to be 130hp lol) it was still a 2.8L... and I got killed several times (carlengths... from roll and a stop) on the street by a 2.8L 5 speed S10 that ran a 10.6 as a best (owner couldnt get out of the 11s). Don't remember the mph though.
Hoping to run a 10.3 in the 1/8th would be pushing it for my car right now. Should run mid-16s assuming it's running 100%.
If it helps any too... I got killed by a non-turbo automatic RS Eclipse with a TH400, two mufflers (selling to trans and mufflers) and a passenger with the A/C on. Same guy that drove the S10.... rubbing it in some more how slow my car was/is.
But yea.. he might be slower with the 3.4L in my car now. *shrug*
