Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I was introucded to this site by a friend of mine here at work. Unfortunatly I do not own a muscle car. Wish I did though
I do own a Silver '00 Ford Contour SVT that I have had for almost 4 years. It has quite a few mods... mostly suspension, ehaust and transmission. Before anybody says anything I know :needpics:
Well I need to get back to work so I can get out of here early and begin :qball:

Thanks...I was wondering if there was anyone else on here with a SVT Contour ? Since I moved here in '98 I have only seen a couple around town. Definetly not a very popular car since only a few thousand were made. And Quality is definetly not job #1 at Ford
They made a fine car in the SVT but damn, I don't think you could put anymore cheap crappy plastic into a car. I can't complain too much cause it is a blast to drive, especially twisty roads  , just needs a bit more power. I wish I could afford the turbo kit for my car, but 5k is a bit steep in my mind.

Wish I knew some to bring...shit what am I saying, if I had some to bring, I would bring them back to my place 8)
Yeah I have put quite a bit into into my car, still under powered and probably always will be, unless I run into some money for forced induction. It does need some work tough, the tranny is making a funny noise when I start her up. I think the flywheel and clutch are not working quite right...there can be some horrrible noises the first few shifts after I start her up.
Also, I have brake pads and new heavy duty CV joints that I need to put on the car but no one around here will install them for me because I didn't by the parts from there shop. Sorry just a little fustrated cause my pads are real low and need to be replaced real soon. I just wanted to buy real good parts and not some cheap shit that places around here would use. I mean shit there is one company in all the country that makes performace CV axels for my car. I paid an arm and a leg for them and not a single shop I have gone to will help me the least. Sorry I am not a big fan of Automotive shops in this town !!! :mad1:

A freind of mine is a mechanic that works for Ford. He might be willing to help you out. Of course the work would be done by him personally and not through Ford...

BTW, that's Ashley in that pic. She used to go to my church, but recently switched. I see her at the Moon on Friday nights.

Thanks...I really don't care who really does it or where it is done. I know FORD won't even touch it, which is fine by me. I am not the biggest fan of All-American Ford, they have messed up my car past. I would appreciate that if he know how to do it I would definetly hook him up with whatever it takes.

That's cool... She is hot and cheering for FSU, that makes her alright with me :D

In that case you should think about hooking up w/ the local SCCA Autocross club. They go out to an old airstrip in Bainbridge GA every month. The next one is the 18th. www.dixiescca.com
Plus it would be good to have a corner-carver pal in the midts of all these 1/4mile guys ;)

Brake pads = easy job
If you're really not very handy with a wrench, swapping out brake pads is a good way to start learning how to work on your car. My philosophy is why pay someone to do something that you can do yourself for free? There's plenty of knowledgable guys here on the board, who I'm sure wouldn't mind helping you out if you wanted it (including myself). The $tealership should always be your last resort, unless you're still under warranty.

Autocrossing is fun. I might be going out there but I doubt I will be racing considering I don't have very good tires on the back and I have too good of tires on the front. And yeah, swapping brake pads is pretty easy and one of the best ways to learn how to work on your car.
