did that happen from yesterday?

A T5 or T45 new is around 800 bucks. if you are low on cash, you can pick one up used a lot cheaper.

OR!!!!!! you can pick up an 03 cobra T56 and all the related parts for the swap for around 1800 bucks. Then sell me the short throw shifter from your old tranny! 8)

Now is the perfect time to upgrade to a 6 speed!

OK, I'll bite. Where in the world can you get a T56 AND all related hardware for $1,800? If that's the case, I'm going six speed. I thought it was about $2400 for the T56 and about $500 for the incidentals.

Swarr Auto, in Collegeville, PA has them starting at $1899

On the other side of the spectrum... if you want to waste a grand, Mustang Parts Specialties in Winder, GA has the same thing for $2900

Hmmmm....Where's my checkbook?

Homer: I wouldn't give those clowns a dime. Their prices on junk are outrageous. You're more likely to see a bank manager giving away $1,000 bills than you are to see a reasonable price on anything at MPS.

exactly. you'd wonder how they stay in business if they've got such a bad rap. and terrible prices!

I figure that they stay in business by getting new cars in for next to nothing, then rebuilding and reselling the pieces they assemble as whole cars. I've seen some of these "cars" online go from their "Rebuilidable" selection to "Rebuilt". They are doing work on cars that should never again see the light of day, much less the open road.

It's likely that they are selling some of the recovered aftermarket stuff from their wrecks on eBay and pocketing the sales tax-free. Not a bad racket, but it's probably not good enough for them to keep their prices in line with the rest of the recyclers out there.

I was planning on getting a spare T45 after the blower for when mine goes boom. I was just gonna rebuild one while the other one is in the car :D
