Well at valdosta my speedo was reading ~90-95mph when I was crossing the traps. Of course, my timeslip, 107, 108mph. Slower then I'd like to be, but definetly off of my speedo. so I plugged the numbers into my excel gear chart.

3rd gear, 4l60

3.73 x 4700rpm = 93mph
3.23 x 4700rpm = 107mph

The computer is programmed to show 3.73, so speedo says 93, but it looks like I actually have 3.23 gears. DAMN the guy who sold me this car and said it had 3.73. Time to save for some gears, that would CERTAINLY solve this mph problem (also found two spark plug wires not in all the way)

are the tires a dif height than stock? That can mess with the speedo also. You are prob right but that is something to consider also

No, and if they were, it wouldnt make a difference like that. Speedo is programmed for a 26 inch tire.

Jack up the back of the car and count tire/DS rotations. Or, pop the cover off and count the teeth. Its the only way to make sure. I dont really trust those calculators all the time.

Gears = Better et and MPH. Gears with a big top end cam and heads = much better et and mph. Most of the reason being it puts me in my powerband. As it sits I'm crossing the traps around 4500 with these crap gears. No good at all because I'm JUST starting to make good power there. Only gaining 19mph from the 1/8 to the 1/4 because of it.

That sucks man. Im in the market for some gears too. I think Im gonna start shooting for the cam only LT1 record. I only need .80 second more. 11.6 here I come :lol:
