Some of you may remember about a month ago, one of my jobs was giving away a TON of 7 day memberships. Well, I was just given a handful of new stuff to pass out and can get anyone who's interested a $100 gift cert to Gold's Gym and 30 days free.

PM me with your contact info if you're interested and I'll give you a call.

Scam? I'm going to come onto a board that I frequent and try to run a scam. Whatever, dude. Please tell me what the "scam" is. If you have questions, fire away.. there is no "catch" to the offer in my first post. It's EXACTLY as I offered it.

I bet you don't even need to give Gold's a Credit card number or Checking account number in order to seamlessly go from free tryout member to full member at 30 days...in which case after 30 days you'd be automatically signed up as a full member. If you don't want to be a full due-paying member, you'd have to give written notice which would "accidentally" be lost the first and second times you send it in...
My best friend has had Gold's scam him and hold onto $50 of his for several months here in town.

Who said I was offering "try out" memberships? Snow, seems you have a problem with reading comprehension. These are $100 gift certs. I don't know what YOU do with a gift cert, but I apply them to goods/services that I want. If you are interested in $100 gift cert, I have them... I'll also give you 30 days free, just like I said. If you're not interested or don't have a clue about what I'm offering, you and "punishr" need to keep your "scammer" accusations to yourself. I'm still wide open to any questions that anyone has about this and am as honest and forthcoming as anyone you'll ever meet. If you're not interested, great. If you are, great. I could really care less, either way... just thought I'd offer what was given to me to the rest of the board.

It has become obvious to me that you are the one that might have a reading disability, re-read my post and realize that I neither called *you* a scammer nor did I mention that you were *only* giving away 30 day free trials to Gold's. Have you tried out the 30day Gold's membership yourself?

Sorry, I appologize. I do realize that you didn't directly call me a scammer. However, not once have I said anything about a 30 day OR trial membership. I am offering niether and can not see why either of these are relevant. Since you are implying that I have done so leads me to believe you are not reading what I am typing.

I took offense to the fact that a couple of people seem to think they know exactly what I'm holding in my hand. PUNISHR set the tone with his post. I came here to offer the board members something I consider to be of significant value and the first post in response is "it's a scam", when in fact he has no clue.

I'm done.

Easy guys. Sandstone just offered, if you dont want it, let someone else have it. No need to accuse him of anything.

I would like to apologize for my offensive tone, was just letting out a little steam that has nothing to do with anybody here.

Do they have student rates? I can't stand Leach, and I am either going to join Gold's or Legends. I want to do it soon too. Let me know.

As i recently found out it is not just Gold's that automatically signs you up if you do not cancel the trial membership. Talked to Legends too, and it is most gym's policy
I did the same and cancelled the day b4 it was up and made sure to call the number on the bottom on the cancellation form to ensure I am not being signed up as a member. Everything went smoothly.
I do agree though that it is kind of a scam to sign someone up who carelessly does not cancel. When they only signed up for a trial membership, they should not have to worry about cancelling.
Which Gold's are you affiliated with? I was going to the one near Olive Garden, and the blonde front desk girl is smokin!!! Had never seen her b4 when I first walked in and she gave me the old "you look familiar..." spiel. I see her all over town (Plaza, Indian village pre-gaming, etc...) I think I am in love :)

I work at the Gold's on N.E. Capital Circle. For those of you who are tired of the Leach, you may have heard about the new club we're opening in the Old Publix on Pensacola street. It's gonna be a huge place and one of the nicest clubs in the country. We also have student rates (currently).

Anyways... yes, there are 7 day trials. The only way a club can technically let you work out there and be covered for liability is to have you as a member. The only other option is to have you sign in as a guest each day and pay the guest fee. For people who are serious about working out and having a gym membership, this is typically not an issue. The purpose of the 7 day trial is to let someone who is interested in joining a club come in and see if they like it. If the person is unhappy with the club and wants to quit within the 7 days, it is very simple ASSUMING THE CANCELLATION REQUEST IS TURNED IN IN TIME. Most people that I have ever heard complain about getting "scammed" or roped into a membership are the same people that wait for 2 weeks to cancel so they don't have to pay anything. The agreements are straightforward, simple, and we are required by law to explain everything very thoroughly. The fact that a member signs this agreement means that they have understood everything that we have explained to them. In a day where people don't want to be responsible for their actions, it's always easier to blame the gym for "scamming you".

And yes... Gold's has some gorgeous women. I know the girl you're talking about, I think she's kinda new. She's amazingly hot!

Amen brother! I'll keep ya updated on my status with her :tu:
I liked Gold's but the front desk guy I worked with was a tool. The rates he was going to give me as a student was $150 down $50/month. At the time there was a billboard advertising $1 down. Didnt like him so I split, leaving my girl behind but I'll find her! I now workout at another popular gym. Same high rating minus the blonde bombshell but got a killer deal. Gotta love knowing people in high places!

Where do you workout at now? I haven't even tried Gold's yet, but I'm not paying $50 a month.

Don't know why he was telling you that. We're still doing the $1 enrollment and the student rate isn't $50/month unless you want a service like unlimited tanning, etc... When the new club opens, this is expected to change, but right now you can have access to all 3 Golds Gyms for $1 down and $39/month if you're interested.
