well i was driving through the parking lot yesterday and my car just died. when i go to restart it nothing at all happens, i put the key in and turn it all the way to start and nothing at all, no fuel pump priming, no starter engaging, or radio or a/c, or anything at all, gagues dont even come on. now i hot wired my car(connecting posotive battery terminal to posotive of my coil with wire). with the car running i put the key in and turn it on and everything works, a/c gagues, radio power windows, etc.. the car also drives pefectally. my question is what is causing this, im going to replace the ignition switch, starter solenoid, and battery ground, and see if that helps. and im also going to check the inline fuses near the starter solenoid. i have already checked all the fuses and they are all good. any suggestions

Can't say I've ever ran into that or heard of that. hmmm. Ignition switch is a good start since there was a recall on those a while back.

thanks tony i thought that might be it since i just replaced it a few months ago. but on the other hand. if the ignition switch went bad, none of the accessories would work right!

Either that or for some reason u lost all power from the battery till u jumped it. I have seen bad connections cause the loss of power to the car till jumped then it will seem ok till it acts up again. Did you have power to anything at all? horn? lights?

ya power to lights and horn but no turn signals so im thinking that is is ignition switch related
