my buddy in my apartment complex has a 2001 GT.
under normal driving there is an audible "creaking" noise that you can also feel in the floorboards around the tranny.
i told i thought it was a loose/broken tranny mount, but its raining so i cant get under it to look
any other ideas for when i can get under it to check it out for him?

A broken tranny mount shouldnt make a creaking noise. It should make a thump or thud. One way for him to check(when it is dry) it out is to get it going at a steady speed/rpm in the powerband and just floor it. It should send the tranny up against the tunnel and feel like someone is hitting his console. That is a broken mount. I had a mount loosen up on me and it would thump up by my right knee. This is all on my Z28 so it might be different on a Stanger.

I had, and have again, the creaking noise. Odds are its the tranny sliding on the bushing. Have him check the bolts there if they're loose, take it in to get fixed, I'm taking mine in this week. For some reason they wouldn't tighten when I tried, just spun forever.

checked it yesterday for him
1 tranny mount bolt was so loose i could take it off with my fingers in three turns
the other one, was missing
fixed it in like 5 minutes (new bolt from autozone)

I was going to suggest that. Mine were loose from the factory on my 02.
My POS TR3650 makes a nice clunking noise when I punch it at a steady speed/RPM... maybe I should check my mounts, lol.
