Cool!

Not that I don't trust you  but have you ever done this before? Do you have a jig?

I've got new housing ends for Moser so it shouldn't be too hard. I just want to make sure it's straight.

I've got some plans to make a jig, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to go through the hassle.

Thanks,
Jason

Mark's Auto Service on Orange. I talked to him before and he is a nice guy. I am sure that he could do it. He can even get the housings pretty cheap. When I went there, he also had a Winston Cup car sitting in the back...

That's because you'd like it to take 6 months, instead of 20 minutes.

He'd also want it done right the first time, not the second ;)

Not very long to actually "swap" the motors. The wiring problem is what took the longest (damn O2 sensor wiring). I was just kidding anyways greg, Id let you change my oil :tu:

Thanks guys. I'll give those two places a ring.

Those jigs seem a little overpriced for what you get...

You can do it without a jig it just takes alittle longer. I've done several it ain't that hard, just alot of checking back and forth. I've got a dana 60 that i narrowed and put the ford A-20 bearings and ends on with a spool and 1 1/2 inch 41 spline axles in. That thing is tough as hell, been running it offroad with 500 hp for about 2 years!

Well, I called Mark's Auto Service on Orange today. They said they could narrow it...for $350!!!

And that's after I said it was already bare and clean, just cut and weld it.

I'm sorry, but that's a little high. I think a brand new Currie housing is cheaper than that. I guess he didn't want to bother with it...

Looks like I'll just do it myself...

Whomever you are, I like the avatar pic. I'm hoping that's yours and what you need the narrowed rear end for. Good luck at any rate.
